WELCOME TO OUR NEW CCC BOARD MEMBERS

The Charbonneau Country Club Board of Directors welcomed four new members and one returning board member at its June 6 meeting . Two of the new members , Glenn Lancaster and Mary Fieweger , were elected to three-year terms during balloting prior to the May CCC annual meeting . Linda Owen was reelected to a new three-year term on the board . Laura Schott and Lee Harker were appointed to fill two vacant positions following interviews with the CCC Executive Committee in early June . Below is information about the new and returning board members :
Laura Schott
Laura Schott has owned her home in Charbonneau since 2014 , but she previously lived in Charbonneau when her family moved to the community when she was 14 . Laura is a multifaceted individual . She is presently a real estate agent , media and operations consultant with Windermere NW Living Realtors and an accomplished former collegiate All-American and professional soccer player . She played collegiately for the University of California , Berkeley where she is their all-time leading scorer , and was named All-Pac 10 all four years . She was inducted into the University of California , Berkeley Hall of Fame in 2018 . She also played for the U-21 Women ’ s National Team , the Full Women ’ s National Team and on the 2003 national champion Washington Freedom of the inaugural women ’ s professional soccer league . In addition , she played for a professional soccer team in Russia .
Today , Laura is a broadcast analyst and pre-and postgame host for the Portland Thorns , the NCAA and the Portland Timbers . She is also the head coach of the George Fox University women ’ s soccer program and former director of Portland Thorns development .
Lee Harker
Lee Harker and her husband , Steve Switzer , who recently passed away , moved to Charbonneau in 2015 from Medford , where Lee worked at Asante Rogue

Regional Medical Center for the last 23 years of her medical career , which included becoming department chair for Maternal Child Health and ultimately president of the medical staff . It was there that Lee met and formed a close friendship with Anne Shevlin .
After commuting from Medford for two years during which time she HARKER worked part time at the hospital , Lee retired in 2017 and plunged into Charbonneau living . She joined the Charbonneau Women ’ s Association , and served on the board as secretary , president and co-president . She also became historian for the Wilsonville Garden Club and is involved with Boys & Girls Aid and in the important Charbonneau medical professionals group that stands ready to assist residents in the event of emergencies .
Mary Fieweger
Mary Fieweger has lived in Charbonneau with her husband Joe for eight years . An avid volunteer and fundraiser , Mary has chaired the Charbonneau Ladies Niners Golf Annual Pink Ball Golf Tournament for five years , helping to raise over $ 650,000 for cancer research , and has been president of the Niners board

for three terms . She also originated and chaired the Niners ’ annual Christmas gift wrap program that raises funds for various Wilsonville nonprofit organizations , among other philanthropic ventures .
Mary has experience serving on several nonprofit boards of directors , including chapters of the American Red Cross and the United Way . She was also an active board member of Operation Bootstrap , which assisted individuals and families in need to food clothing and shelter , and the St . Michael ’ s Hospital Board of Directors in Stevens Point , Wisconsin . She also served as president of the hospital ’ s 140-member volunteer auxiliary . Mary was recognized as an “ Outstanding Young Woman in America ” in 1983 . In addition to her volunteer work , Mary has extensive experience as a sales executive , and as an instructor teaching about new glaucoma technology to medical professionals at various universities .
Glenn Lancaster
Glenn and his wife Anna moved to Charbonneau in 2019 . Glenn is retired , having worked for over 40 years in the electric utility field . Most recently , he was an owner / partner in Stephens , McCarthy , Lancaster , LLC , a manufacturer ’ s
LANCASTER representative serving the electric utility industry in nine states . During his time as a business owner , Glenn developed stills in business planning , operations management , problem analysis and problem solving and negotiation . He has relied on “ best practices thinking ” during his business career , and brings that ethic to his directorship on the CCC Board .
Glenn sees the next ten years as a time of continual community renewal and improvement , and wants to be an integral part of planning for the future , with a particular emphasis on public safety and upgrades to common areas . He has been involved with CCC ’ s Emergency Preparedness & Public Safety Committee .
Linda Owen
Linda Owen has served on the CCC Board of Directors for three years . She presently serves as treasurer of the board , and is active on the board ’ s asset management and communications committees .
Linda and her husband Dale have lived in Charbonneau for 12 years , moving to the community

from Bend to be closer to their seven grandchildren . Prior to retirement Linda was a legal secretary , and an administrative assistant to a chief bankruptcy judge . In addition , she was the HR director for a Chapter 13 judge , and developed a debtor education program to assist individuals experiencing financial challenges . She also served as the president of the National Judicial Assistance Board .
Here in Charbonneau , in addition to her service on the CCC Board of Directors , Linda has served on Board of Directors of the Charbonneau Women ’ s Golf Association and the Charbonneau Women ’ s Association .

Hey , we ’ ve made it to summer ! I hope it ’ s a good one — not too hot and not
VEDDER too cold .
My garden is paradise right now and , even though it takes a lot of personal management , it ’ s so worth it .
I don ’ t golf , play tennis , swim , etc . so the only thing left is yard work and then — more yard work ?
My hope is that those of you who partake in all of the above will remain healthy and flexible all summer long . Sunshine Service is here to assist when you need it , but it would be wonderful if we made it through June , July and August with zero illnesses or accidents !
I ’ d like to share a sweet story with you in hopes that it will make you smile .
