Researchers at Ohio State found that good posture gave people more confidence in their thoughts and rated themselves more positively versus when they were slumped over. “People assume their confidence is coming from their own thoughts,” said Richard Petty, co-author of the study and professor of psychology at Ohio State. “They don’t realize their posture is affecting how much they believe in what they’re thinking.” In other words, you can’t think yourself better … but it is possible to use confident body language to trick your brain into believing you really ARE better.
