In 2024 , the SJI Vocal Ensemble ( VE ) continued its harmonious journey , blending tradition and innovation to create a season of unforgettable performances . With more than 70 talented singers from Year 1 to Year 4 , the choir is a vibrant , dynamic community that thrives on a shared passion for music and the SJI spirit of brotherhood . The choir ’ s voice resounded through the school , starting with Inaugural Ceremony and Founder ’ s Day , where their melodies set the tone for these significant moments .
At the SJI Open House , the choir performed for parents and Primary 6 students eager to join the Josephian family in the coming year . Their performance was a resounding testament to their talent , inspiring the next generation of Josephians with harmonious melodies and showcasing the vibrant culture of the school .
The VE ’ s talents extended beyond the walls of the institution . At the biennial Mutien Festival , the choir captivated a broader audience , showcasing both artistry and cohesion .

Their diverse repertoire tested their vocal prowess and featured lively choreography . The choir ’ s harmonized voices formed a symphony of skill , discipline , and passion , truly embodying the essence of a refined choral group .
As part of their Values In Action ( VIA ) project , the VE members volunteered at Willing Hearts , actively participating in the preparation and distribution of meals to individuals struggling with food insecurity . Through this hands-on initiative , the students not only contributed to alleviating hunger within the community but also gained valuable lessons in empathy , teamwork , and the significance of service .
Throughout the year , each performance was a step forward in their musical journey , one built on unity , perseverance , and an unwavering commitment to excellence . As they look forward to the next step on stage , the SJI Vocal Ensemble will hope to continue to shine within and beyond the walls of their institution .
