Tennis

In 2024 , all A , B and C-Division Tennis teams competed and did phenomenally well in the National School Games ( NSG ). Both the B and C-Divisions attained medals while the A-Division garnered a very respectable fourth position in the competition even though it was their inaugural participation in the NSG . It has been over 30 years since the B-Division has reached the finals and therefore , this year ’ s results are a truly remarkable milestone .
Our boys showcased exceptional determination , perseverance , and mental strength throughout the competition , overcoming numerous challenges . With heads held high , they leave the court more determined than ever to return even stronger next year .

This year is also an eventful one for two of our tennis boys , Justin Lie ( ML202 ) and Brennon Ng ( MN 201 ). They represented Singapore in a three-member team in the World Junior Competition 2024 held in Kuching . ITF World Junior Championships are the international team events for the 14-and-under age category .
Zachary Sng ( ML301 ) was the recipient of the 2024 Best Sportsboy for Tennis by the Singapore School Sports Council ( SSSC ). This prestigious Sports Pinnacle Award is presented to the overall best athlete in each sport sanctioned by the SSSC , in recognition of the students ’ excellent achievement in both local and overseas competitions .
Giving back to the community is important to the team . The Tennis team participated in a friendly with SJI Junior Primary 6 Tennis boys to inspire them as young players . Some of our Year 3 and Year 4 tennis players participated in the Values In Action ( VIA ) project where they partnered , Soundball , an organisation that aims to help the visually
impaired to learn tennis skills . Our Tennis boys helped to rally with them and engage them in the sport .
The Tennis team anticipates an equally fulfilling and successful year in 2025 with much hope and renewed promise .
