Ever ready to support one another

Squash

Benjamin ( LE401 ), Gabriel ( ML401 ) and Gaven ( ML402 ) - three boys on the NSG Squash 2024 team
This vibrant and close-knit CCA plays a crucial role in nurturing both the character and sporting development of its student members . Through engaging peer interactions , service-oriented activities , and regular training sessions , the CCA effectively fosters essential qualities such as teamwork , resilience , and a genuine passion for the sport .
The weekly training sessions held at PSOEB are meticulously designed to focus on various aspects of athletic development , including fitness conditioning , skill honing , and adaptive gameplay strategies . A particularly interesting feature of these training sessions is the inclusion of group and paired court workouts . These collaborative exercises not only promote a deeper understanding of game concepts but also enhance the execution of racket strokes . While the training can be physically demanding and energy-sapping , students relish the challenges presented to them , viewing these moments as vital stepping stones toward their personal progress and athletic aspirations .
As the National School Games ( NSG ) approached , students participated in a round-robin competition format to determine the final selection of players who represented the school . This competitive environment not only sharpens their skills but also builds camaraderie and a strong sense of community among the participants .
Beyond the pursuit of formal results and the quest for victory at the NSG , it is heartwarming to observe the spirit of sportsmanship that shines through . Players from both teams often share the court during warm-ups , exchanging congratulations for good efforts regardless of the scoreline . This supportive atmosphere serves as a powerful life lesson for everyone involved — players , coaches , officials , and supporters alike — emphasising respect and kindness .
The camaraderie among student members is truly noteworthy . Away from the court , it is uplifting to witness the mutual encouragement , spontaneous acts of kindness , and engaging bonding sessions that further strengthen their relationships .
