Brian Loh has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to service and leadership , contributing significantly to his school and the broader community . Proactive and driven , he actively seeks opportunities to make a difference and is frequently invited to participate in leadership roles due to his reliability and dedication .
Despite joining SJI only in Year 3 , Brian quickly earned the trust and respect of his peers and teachers . This led to his election as Fintan Fraternity Captain , where he played a pivotal role in fostering a stronger sense of identity and belonging among students . He also took the initiative to collaborate with other Fraternity Captains to promote school spirit through joint programmes and interactions across cohorts .
Brian ’ s leadership qualities are widely recognised by both students and staff . His Form Teacher and Fraternity Teacher Mentor , Mr . Sarabjeet Singh , praised him as an authentic , relatable , and approachable leader . Brian is known for generating innovative ideas and seeing them through to completion , organising initiatives that bring tangible benefits to his peers . Confident in expressing his ideas , Brian is also open to learning from others , a trait that enhances both his leadership and personal relationships .
In his CCA , NPCC Air , Brian demonstrated resilience and responsibility , rising through the ranks to join the Executive Committee ( EXCO ). He represented SJI at prestigious national events such as the MOE National Camp and National Day Parade , excelling in these demanding platforms while ensuring his peers ’ interests and welfare were maintained . Brian ' s high standards and commitment to excellence did not go unnoticed , further solidifying his reputation as a dependable and effective leader .
Beyond his CCA , Brian earned strong endorsements from his teachers to join the Prefectorial Board , where he quickly adapted and took on significant responsibilities . One of his major contributions was organising and emceeing the inaugural VIA Scubilion Fair , where he coordinated with partner organisations and aligned them with his peers ’ strengths , fostering impactful community initiatives . His professionalism and ability to empathise with others were key to the fair ’ s success . Additionally , Brian spearheaded his own VIA project , Project Parsimonia , focusing on upcycling clothes to raise awareness about sustainability among his fellow students .
Brian is a leader with a heart for service , consistently inspiring those around him with his passion , empathy , and dedication . His contributions have left an indelible mark on his peers and teachers , and his leadership has been a source of inspiration . Brian is truly deserving of the Lasallian Distinguished Service Award 2024 , exemplifying the spirit of community , leadership , and service .
Ee-Ruey exemplifies a responsible and dependable young man who excels in both academic and leadership roles . Known for his hardworking nature , Ee-Ruey gets along well with his peers and displays a willingness to share knowledge , whether working in teams or independently . His resilience and adaptability allow him to remain motivated and undeterred when faced with challenges , handling unfamiliar contexts with ease .
With a strong sense of self-discipline , Ee-Ruey consistently completed tasks with minimal supervision , demonstrating his drive and commitment . His well-mannered and respectful demeanor made him a welcome presence everywhere , and his inquisitive mind and thoughtful perspectives enriched classroom discussions .
At SJI , Ee-Ruey has demonstrated a positive attitude and enthusiasm for his studies , consistently achieving good academic results . His leadership abilities are evident in the many roles he has held , including Class Vice- Chairman , School Prefect , Peer Support Leader , Peer Support Facilitator , and Deputy Head Prefect . These roles allowed him to communicate effectively with his peers , understand their needs , and guide them toward common goals . Ee-Ruey displayed strong moral courage and ethics in his actions , earning the respect of his teachers and classmates alike .
Mr Tay Zhi Qian , his History teacher , commends him for his insightful contributions to class discussions , his thirst for knowledge , and his ability to adapt to changing circumstances . Similarly , Ms Tan Kah Choon , Ee- Ruey ’ s Chinese Language teacher , praises his perseverance in overcoming challenges in learning Chinese , highlighting his determination and generosity in helping classmates struggling with the language . Ms Kassandra Lim , Ee- Ruey ’ s Form Tutor and Biology teacher , also speaks highly of his curiosity and dedication to biology , noting his leadership in collaborative projects .
Beyond academics , Ee-Ruey has made significant contributions to the community . He volunteered at the Children ’ s Church at Living Sanctuary Brethren Church in 2022 , leading weekly activities for 50 children . As Chairman of the Speech Buddy Programme in 2023 , he helped conduct public speaking workshops for students at De La Salle Primary School and SJI Junior . Additionally , Ee-Ruey performed as the male lead in " Starstruck ," an SJI musical that raised over $ 4,500 for Children ’ s Wishing Well , with more than 110 hours spent in rehearsals .
Over his four years at SJI , Ee-Ruey has embodied the school ' s values of faith and service . His selflessness , integrity , and dedication have left a lasting impact on the school and the community , making him a worthy recipient of recognition for his exceptional service .
