Senior Josephian & Lasallian Distinguished Service Award
Ariel Aiman is a well-rounded student whose exemplary academic performance , leadership , and service to the community embody the qualities of a true Josephian . Known for his charismatic and enthusiastic personality , Aiman creates a positive environment for those around him . He consistently demonstrates perseverance in all his endeavors , both academic and extracurricular , and is empathetic and understanding , building strong friendships with his peers . His reflective learning approach enables him to grow from his mistakes and continually improve himself .
Aiman takes his responsibilities seriously and is highly motivated to succeed . His calm demeanor and methodical approach allow him to prioritise tasks effectively and tackle challenges with enthusiasm . His love for learning is evident in his academic achievements , which include the Prime Minister ’ s Book Prize in 2021 and the 4 Science 4 Math and Science Award in 2023 . Aiman ’ s talent for language also shines through his success in debate competitions . He was a finalist in the Saya Boleh Berpidato Competition in 2023 and 2024 , and in 2024 , he was named Best Speaker in the Bahas 4PM competition , where his team emerged as champions .
Aiman ’ s teachers speak highly of him . His Chemistry teacher , Miss Gina Tan , praises his attention to detail and time management , while his Malay Language teacher , Ms Siti Rahimah , commends his passion for the language and his leadership in national debates . Aiman ' s commitment to the Malay Language , along with his leadership and oratory skills , have brought glory to SJI and earned him widespread recognition .
Beyond academics , Aiman ’ s leadership is evident in his role as Unit Sergeant Major ( USM ) of the SJI National Cadet Corps ( NCC ), where he was also recognised as Master Sergeant by NCC Headquarters . He represented SJI in the National Day Parade marching contingent and was awarded the NCC HQ Outstanding Cadet Award in 2024 . His peers view him as dependable and committed , and his achievements in the NCC are a testament to his perseverance .
Aiman ' s leadership was further recognised in his appointment as Head of the Prefectorial Board in 2023 . He played a key role in organising events like Teachers ' Day , Founder ' s Day , and the SJI Open House . He also led school camps and Values-in-Action projects , such as the Muhammadiyah Sports Day for orphans . His commitment to serving both the school and the wider community reflects his deep sense of compassion and purpose .
Aiman ’ s remarkable journey at SJI has been marked by his dedication to service , leadership , and academic excellence , making him a truly worthy recipient of the Senior Josephian Award .

Raad Puthucheary has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to service and leadership , making significant contributions both within and beyond SJI . He is especially known for his ability to bring people together toward a common goal , encouraging and inspiring others to serve the community .
Raad credits his Year 2 Form teacher , Ms . Karen Teo , for encouraging him to take on his first leadership role as a Peer Support Leader for new Josephians . This experience set him on a path to become an influential leader at SJI , contributing meaningfully in numerous capacities .
Within the Drama Club CCA , Raad quickly rose through the ranks to become Vice-President , where he demonstrated his maturity , confidence , and reliability . In this role , he managed key projects like Drama Night , developed the curriculum for Year 1 and 2 Josephians , and organised bonding camps . He also oversaw administrative and logistical needs for the club , earning praise from his Drama Teacher , Ms . Valerie Koh , who commended him for his strong sense of duty , empathy and responsibility . These qualities made him a highly effective leader , playing a key role in the growth and success of the Drama Club during his time there .
Raad ’ s leadership extended beyond his CCA to his role as a Prefect . He was selected to serve in the Prefects ’ Executive Committee ( EXCO ), where his leadership skills were recognised and endorsed by many teachers . One of Raad ’ s standout contributions as a prefect was during Prefect Camp 2023 , where he developed training modules for new prefects and gathered feedback from students to better understand how prefects could serve the school . His insights led to meaningful improvements in student engagement , which were evident in major school events like the Mahalo Carnival , Chinese New Year Celebrations , and Teachers ' Day Celebrations , where he played a leading role .
Raad ’ s commitment to service also extended beyond SJI , where he took on the responsibility of being a member of the organising committee for the Hair for Hope initiative . His efforts to rally the school community to support children with cancer were deeply impactful , inspiring younger students to continue the work he had started , thus creating a ripple effect of positive change .
Raad ’ s service and leadership at SJI have left a lasting impact .
