CHAPTER 5
CCA & CAS

Paper Bridges

TEACHER-IN-CHARGE Mr Russell Dominic Tan Wen Yi ( Teacher I / C )
Paper Bridges began the year embarking on a collaboration with the National University Hospital ( NUH ) and the Children ’ s Cancer Foundation ( CCF ) where members spread joy to children undergoing chemotherapy and treatment by writing and designing Birthday and Get Well Soon cards , instilling a greater sense of empathy and care for the paediatric patients experiencing unique socio-emotional needs .
Paper Bridges also had the opportunity to work with Team SEAL , a project initiated by SJI students to raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation ( LLF ). As part of this joint effort to support the LLF patients , Paper Bridges members decorated cards and penned their well-wishes to the patients , encouraging them to be positive and to press on in their recovery journey .
Both collaborations provided Paper Bridges members with a sense of purpose in reaching out to communities in need , particularly by harnessing the power of language to speak uplifting words of hope to the respective beneficiaries .
