Photography CAS at SJI offers students a platform to explore their passion for photography while developing a range of nuanced skills and techniques . Through workshops , practice sessions , and events , members are provided with diverse opportunities to refine their abilities across various photographic styles .

The CAS covers major school events , from Sports Day and Cross Country competitions to celebrations like Racial Harmony Day , Teachers ’ Day , Mutien Festival , and National Day . In July , the Photography CAS set up a photobooth at the Mahalo Carnival , capturing moments for students , alumni , and families .

Collaborations with other CAS groups also add an enriching layer to the programme . In October , Photography CAS partnered with Astronomy CAS for a unique stargazing and light painting event blending artistic creativity with scientific curiosity . This collaboration created lasting memories and strengthened connections across the CAS groups .

In August , the 2024-2025 EXCO invited professional photographer Mr Wesley Loh from Memphis West Pictures to lead a workshop on portrait photography , emphasising its ability to tell stories . Members practised creative portraits , receiving valuable feedback from Mr Loh , which helped both beginners and experienced photographers enhance their work . These sessions fostered creativity while providing a space for members to bond through shared experiences .
