Creativity , Activity and Service ( CAS )

Creativity , Activity and Service ( CAS ) is an integral part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme ( IBDP ), being one of the three core components that students have to fulfil in order to graduate with an IB diploma . Promoting the holistic development of the IB student , CAS encourages equal participation in all three aspects : creativity , activity and service and a project . Thus , students can participate in a variety of CAS groups and initiate new ones too , especially when they are passionate about a cause , a sport or an idea that they hope to see materialise .

This year , the students have formed new groups ranging from a Games Club , Chamber Ensemble to a Paper Plane Club , and also organised and led projects such as the Lunch Time Arts Concert and the SJI-Rainbow Centre Community Day . The SJI-Rainbow Centre Community Day on 10 October 2016 saw the whole JC 1 cohort manning games and craft stalls , or befriending the children from Rainbow Centre and ensuring they had an enjoyable day in SJI .
CAS provides students opportunities to be adventurous , explore new areas that they have never considered , while tapping on their potential , creativity , and leadership . Through the varied experiences that they choose to participate in , students are enriched , enlightened and equipped to be better citizens of a global community .
