Learning about coastal pollution on coast of Perth
The annual Global Education Programme ( GEP ) trip took place during week 8 of Term Two this year . A total of 143 JC1 students and staff embarked on a 7-day learning journey to one of the five destinations – Vietnam , Malaysia , Cambodia , Thailand and Australia . During the trip , students not only engaged with different communities to learn about different cultures and places but also participated in community projects that served to address some of the United Nations ( UN ) Sustainable Development Goals of 2016 . These projects addressed some of the UN ’ s Sustainable Development Goals of ensuring inclusive and quality education for all , reducing

inequality within the country , ensuring affordable energy , and marine resources for future generations .
Some students who were under the mentorship of Mr Alex Soh , a travel and landscape photographer , shared their stories and experiences from this trip through their very first public photography exhibition held at Singapore Botanical Gardens from 19 – 27 November 2016 .
