The next performance was not by the entire SJIMB but rather the SJI String Ensemble , consisting of many talented members of the SJIMB who are able to play string instruments . This not only gave the audience a sense of variety but gave them the impression that our students are not just capable but flexible as well , being able to learn more than just one instrument fluently . The concert then continued with performances from the Brass Ensemble , The SJIMB Alumni Band , which consists of experienced players from past batches , as well as a couple more songs from the main SJIMB , such as Les Miserables and Enchanted .
For our finale , A song was especially picked and conducted by our other student conductor , Daniel Heng . This song was none other than Japanese Graffiti XVIII , which is comprised of popular soundtracks from different animes . Daniel conducted this song with zest and great enthusiasm , appropriate showcasing the liveliness of the SJIMB .

As the performance was coming to a close , it seemed that the audience just couldn ’ t get enough , thus the band was met with loud cheers for an encore . We could not leave them dissatisfied so we played “ St Joseph ’ s Call ” and the School Rally , both of which would unite boys of SJI both young and old . The night was truly grand .
Annual Parade : This year marks the 162nd Annual Parade . The Annual Parade is brought to fruition by the sweat and tears of the bandsmen over weeks of preparation . The Annual Parade is an honored tradition in which each Uniformed Group passes down the command from Sec 4 to Sec 3 . This is also an important event for the band as it marks the last time the Sec 4s will be participating in the band before officially passing down to the Sec 3s . The highlight of the event was the well-coordinated and excellently executed march pass , in which each and every Uniformed Group will march past their former leaders , to which they will salute to the marching contingent . The SJIMB accompanied them by performing marching songs such as the School Rally , the Thunderer and many more .
At the end of the event , the SJIMB had our own march pass where every Sec 4 would salute to the band as we marched past them . The Annual Parade is truly an enriching and emotional event as it digs deep into the roots of the SJIMB and really gives us all a sense of pride and community .
