Our ‘ B ’ Division doubles team playing against

The SJI Table Tennis has been performing well consistently and bringing glory to the school since 1996 under Coach Mr . Yao Mei Shen . The ‘ B ’ and ‘ C ’ Division teams have been in the Top 4 for many years in the South Zone Competition . This year the ‘ B ’ Division emerged 2nd in the South Zone Competition while the ‘ C ’ Division achieved 3rd position . Furthermore , the ‘ B ’ Division emerged Top 8 in the National Inter-School Table Tennis Championships .
This year is a special year . The ‘ B ’ Division boys have finally beaten our long-standing rival , Catholic High School . Besides this , Yang Chen Ye ( MN 402 ) clinched 3rd position in the National Inter-School Table Tennis Individual Championships . He has been selected to be in the Singapore Schools Table Tennis Team by the National Schools Sports Council Table Tennis Sub-committee . He will be involved in the selection trial for students in the Singapore Schools Table Tennis Teams to represent Singapore Schools in the 6th ASEAN Schools Games ( ASG ) from 29th November – 7th December 2014 in Manila , the Philippines .
The intensive training by Coach Yao has enabled the boys to improve their skills as well as learn important life skills such as perseverance and teamwork . The team is united and the members bonded well with one another .
Looking forward , the team aims to reach greater heights in the coming year and will continue to work hard to fight for the top four positions in the National Inter-School Table Tennis Championships next year .
