The squash players display a strong sense of camaraderie and training sessions often see the members encouraging one another to improve their skills . To reinforce this spirit of solidarity and to expose our boys to strong competition , a trip to Kuala Lumpur was organised from 28 November – 2 December 2013 . SJI squash players had to pit their skills against their Malaysian counterparts , many of whom started playing squash at a younger age than ours . One of our teams emerged 6th place out of 18 teams in the Under-17 Boys . In the Masonry Singapore Closed Squash Championship from 9-18 January 2014 , Bryan Tan ( LE 304 ) was seeded 4th but upset the draw when he won the 1st seed 3-1 in the semis , and the 2nd seed 3-2 in the finals to emerge as the Under -15 Boys Champion .

Kevin Khoe ( B Div , 2013 ), Rio Matthew Lee de Silva ( LE 402 ), Manfred Loh ( MN 303 ) and Russell Lui ( B Div , 2013 ) achieved 6th out of 18 teams in the under -17 age group Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya Squash Champinship from 28 / 11 – 2 / 12 / 2013 .
This huge field in Kuala Lumpur came in handy for our satisfying soccer game .
