GROUP STRUCTURE
The entire company was split into four groups , each comprising cadets from the different levels to promote bonding among the different levels . The groups were split into four boats for the activity , with harsh , intense races among the competitive cadets .
This activity created opportunities for the juniors to step up and lead their groups to victory . The very fact that the company was able to coordinate the paddling despite differences between the strengths and age of the group members was a perfect testimony to the teamwork and brotherhood demonstrated by the unit .
Fun Training @ East Coast Park 2012 has been a fruitful year for SJI NCC ( Land ), and we would not be here today , without our hardworking seniors . Thus , to show our gratitude , the new Secondary Three cadet leaders of the company planned an outing for the whole unit , where the cadets
went to East Coast Park to play sports , build sandcastles and have a barbeque . It was a significant event for our Secondary Four seniors , as that day represented their final hours as cadets . We also presented our seniors with farewell gifts and showed our appreciation for our Teacher Officers with an original song !
Cycling Expedition to Pengerang , Malaysia On 3 and 4 September , the Secondary One cadets took part in a cycling expedition in Pengerang , Malaysia . Even though some of the cadets did not know how to cycle , they still took part in the event , as it was a good opportunity for them to form bond with their mates . The boys cycled on rough roads , steep slopes , and even through an oil plantation ! Under the merciless hot sun , the boys ’ shirts soon became soaked , and many boys were sunburnt . The cadets persevered throughout the 56km expedition .
