End-of-the-Year Activities
End-of-year activities are a time to celebrate all that our students have accomplished throughout the school year. These events are privileges, not entitlements, and are designed to recognize students who have demonstrated consistent effort in their academics, attendance, and behavior.
Students may lose the opportunity to participate in these activities if they:
• Have under a 1.7 GPA for the school year and are not making adequate academic progress,
• Have excessive unexcused absences or tardiness,
• Display ongoing behavioral concerns or receive numerous disciplinary referrals.
Our goal is to support every student in making positive choices so they can fully enjoy these special events. Let’ s finish the year strong— academically focused, regularly present, and demonstrating respectful behavior.
Emergency Procedures
Drills
All emergency plans and procedures will be covered with your child during the first days of school. Each month we will have a practice drill: fire drill, bus evacuation drill, secure the school or lockdown. When we have a practice drill, we will not send a notification home to families( except for the first practice drill). Notifications will be sent via ParentSquare for when we have an actual situation that requires students to evacuate the building or follow the procedures for a secure the school or lockdown call.
Emergency Procedures
Fire drills
In the event of a fire drill or alarm, all students and staff must evacuate the building immediately and calmly following the posted evacuation routes.
Fire drills are held regularly to ensure preparedness. It is essential that everyone treats each drill as if it were a real emergency.
During a fire drill, it is critical that all students follow expectations to ensure safety for everyone:
• Follow adult directions immediately.
• Remain silent so important instructions can be heard.
• Walk calmly— do not run, push, or linger.
• Stay with your class and do not leave the line.
• Keep hands and bodies to yourself at all times.
• Listen carefully for updates or the“ all clear” signal before re-entering the building.
