Reservoir watches are distributed in the UK and Ireland by the Verigroup which is run by founder and managing director, Neil Duckworth. Commenting on the news Duckworth said: “Farfetch is a great move for the brand reaching a whole new demographic and providing the brand with a really positive endorsement. For the UK and Ireland, our focus is the retail jewellery market which is, and always will be, the most important sales avenue for Reservoir.” WATCHES Raymond Weil launches new watches for Beaverbook’s 100th birthday The timepieces will not be sold anywhere else in the UK and the quantity is limited on a first come, first served basis Swiss watchmaker, Raymond Weil, has announced two exclusive, limited edition Tango timepieces in celebration of Beaverbrook’s 100th birthday this year. As the first luxury Swiss watch brand to be sold at the jewellery store, Raymond Weil said it is “proud” to be part of Beaverbrook’s “horological DNA” and enjoy a strong history with the brand. RESULTS Pandora posts ‘weak’ Q1 results Jewellery retailer Pandora has reported “weak” financial results for the first quarter of 2019, impacted by the commercial reset initiated as part of its ‘Programme NOW’. Total like-for-like sales-out growth (like-for-like) was -10%, driven by lower traffic in physical stores, and online like-for-like sales was 7%. Organic growth ended at -12% reflecting the decrease of wholesalers’ inventory partly driven by the reduced sell-in packages. EVENTS Sheffield jeweller to exhibit at new jewellery and silversmithing fair Sheffield jeweller Jennie Gill has been announced as one of the 60 independent makers from all over the UK who will exhibit at the inaugural Goldsmiths North international summer selling fair at the Cutlers’ Hall from 12 to 14 July. Whitby-born Gill will be showcasing her handmade jewellery that is characterised by a “modern spin” on traditional methods and materials, including hand cut, natural diamonds and Whitby jet.
