we had some very nice meals indeed. It is always fun to wander around the Opera House and hike the other way towards The Rocks which is a touristy but very nice area just under the bridge.

Prior to traveling to Sydney we were all in Queensland having fun at several locations. We flew into Brisbane and drove 2 hours North to an upscale coastal town of Noosa and rented an apartment for a week during Christmas and New Years. Amongst other things this area is known for its surfing and golf. Our apartment was very nice and located on the first floor. One night after walking up the steps towards our room I looked into a nearby tree that was probably 3-4 feet away and saw the largest bat, I’ d ever seen standing on the branch that scared the hell out of me. I had never seen a bat in the wild so close up and so big. Bats in Australia are known to carry rabies and even a scratch can be fatal.
I had a game of golf with a friend of mine who had come up from Brisbane at a very nice resort course. When I started walking into the woods to retrieve my ball, my mate suggested not to go in as there were some pretty dangerous snakes in the area so I heeded his advice.
