the trip. The gondola ride is exciting, the food is great and the view is marvelous. Although we didn ' t take the Earnslaw steamship cruise, it comes with strong recommendations by others. We did take a nice day trip to Glenorchy. The road follows the lake to the other side and takes about 1 hour.
A week later we left Queenstown traveling north where there were many vineyards and wineries that we should have explored earlier if we had known about this. A further three hour drive revealed the crown jewell in the Southern Alps- Mount Cook. The closer we got the better it looked.
