While many of the learners enjoyed the sound and light effects, some of them were taken aback by the same as they had never seen such a show of lights. Overall, it was a visual treat. Navratri with Grandparents It was a special day for the grandparents of the pre primary learners as they were invited to attend a Navratri function arranged specially for them. The learners had the day off and only reported to school along with their grandparents for the garbha. The teachers were delighted to see the little ones dressed in traditional attire. The program began with a welcome speech given by a learner. Each class performed a song prepared for the occasion. The grandparents enjoyed the evening as there were plenty of games, prizes, refreshments and of course the garbha. They were also touched when they each received a card prepared by their grandchild. Neighbourhood Walk The teachers of Senior Kg came up with a well-thought out plan of connecting class room learning to the outside world. On the 24th of August the learners were taken on a bus trip around the neighbourhood. They were asked to observe shops, restaurants, the fire station, the police station, telephone exchange, etc. It was fun and exciting, and the learners also learned about their neighbourhood. The trip ended with a discussion on the importance of these places in our community. Rhymes Day The learners got a chance to display their poetry recitation skills when they performed for their parents on Rhymes Day. The confidence of the children was boosted when they saw their parents smiling and cheering them while they performed. Their basic costumes and props enhanced their performance. The parents beamed with pride to see their young ones put up a marvelous performance. Profession Day The choice of careers has increased manifold in the past couple of years. Hence, a small event based on various professions was held to enhance the learner's knowledge about them. All the learners were dressed in attire representing their occupation. The parents took the effort to help the learners speak a few lines about their respective occupations. The speeches given by individual learners generated a lot of questions and discussions in class. The whole event turned out to be enjoyable as well as educational.
