Founded in 2011 , Universal Promise provides individuals and institutions in underserved regions with the academic resources needed to ensure educational and career opportunities that will promote just , civil , and hopeful societies .

Background : We transform South African schools by asking local educators and students to present Top Ten Wish Lists for change . Together we prioritize requests , require mutual ownership , fund only sustainable measures , and depart once a school ’ s independence is certain .
Brag Lines : UP has invested $ 1,000,000 to renovate , create , or fund three schools , computer labs , a health clinic , a library , a science lab , dance , music , wellness spaces , an arts studio , clean / green water and electricity systems , teacher-training , robotics , and more .
Pay It Forward : Deputy-principal Nondumiso Tutani said , “ I like Universal Promise because they believe in transparency and accountability . They do not use the top-down approach and dictate to us . They use a bottom-up approach ; they ask us , we agree , and then we implement .”

Pay it Forward : Gifts to GSSNE provide camperships so girls can attend Girl Scout Camps ( 158 girls received assistance in 2020 ) and memberships so girls who could otherwise not participate are able to !

$ 1,050 provides memberships for thirty girls .
$ 800 trains twenty-five volunteers to lead troops and deliver programs .
$ 550 gives a girl an unforgettable week at overnight camp .
$ 250 purchases program supplies for a dozen girls in after-school programs .
