Community Partners companies who support the common good
Washington Trust ’ s Elizabeth B . Eckel , Senior Vice President , Chief Marketing & Corporate Communications Officer , and Mark K . W . Gim , President and Chief Operating Officer
SINCE 1800 , WASHINGTON TRUST HAS BEEN A TRUSTED FINANCIAL PARTNER AND GOOD NEIGHBOR IN EVERY COMMUNITY IT SERVES . And that ’ s why , twenty-one years ago , the company responded to a critical need in southern New England and joined the fight to end hunger .
Washington Trust ’ s annual peanut butter drive sparked an outpouring of support and generosity from individuals , businesses and schools .
Why peanut butter ? It ’ s high in protein and loved by all , but expensive for families in need . It ’ s also an easy way for individuals and businesses to help their neighbors — a single jar makes sixteen sandwiches !
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic , the Rhode Island Community Food Bank is continuing to respond to a heightened need for food assistance .
“ This year , with the pandemic driving an increased demand for food , we are so thankful for the generous donations we ’ ve received through the drive ,” said Rhode Island Community Food Bank CEO , Andrew Schiff . “ And with Washington Trust matching all donations , we were able to double the amount of peanut butter we can distribute to our neighbors in need .”
