IN WHAT WAS AN UNPRECEDENTED YEAR IN SO MANY WAYS , Centreville Bank and the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation continued the commitment to charitable giving and community investment that has come to define the organization since its founding in 1828 .
The needs of our communities and many nonprofits shifted significantly during the year due to COVID-19 . In response , the Bank ’ s grant-making processes were realigned to provide support where it was needed most , as community-based organizations became the immediate source of basic needs distribution across the region .
In addition to funding for local food pantries and organizations working directly with families impacted by the pandemic , grants were provided to Care New England ( expansion of telemedicine programs ), Clinica Esperanza ( additional site staffing to expand testing and support in multi-lingual communities ) and the United Way of RI COVID-19 Emergency Fund .
In total , the Centreville Bank Charitable Foundation provided over $ 1,000,000 in grants and community support during 2020 . This level of annual giving is the largest in Centreville ’ s history .
