Grant was one of the very few remaining WWII war veterans in Quebec. He has graced the pages of many media sources, and the Chronicle has had him in Remembrance Day celebrations, parties, July 1st parades in Bury and much more. He is also the last signatory of the charter that started the ANAF Unit 318 some 64 years ago. Grant is a founding member of Unit # 318, according to Kevin MacIver, President of the ANAF Veterans in Canada Lennoxville Unit 318. Grant was a very active member in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 48 in Bury, right up to the day he passed away.
Grant Taylor served since he was age 18. He trained in Trenton, Ontario, with the Air Force, and was sent overseas where he drove on the battlefield picking up aircraft wreckage. He was always an honored guest at all events he attended, and Grant and Mayotta didn ' t miss too many events.
This reporter knew Grant Taylor all of our life. He grew up in our area and married a local girl. We can remember him dancing the night away at parties and getting up on stage and singing a few songs. He always dedicated them to his loving Mayotta. We remember him at countless Remembrance Day services in Sawyerville, Bury, East Clifton, Cookshire, Island Brook, Lennoxville and others. Grant never

find very close to 20 ladies and one gentleman hard at work, needles in hand and creative minds at work. This group knits, crochets, does needle point and many other crafts. We talked with organizer Pam Jouris, and she told us that they have been meeting for nine years now.
While there, we met up with a young lady by the name of Yang Fei, from Beijing, China. She is here on a work program and staying with Kathy Chapdelaine, who is one of the knitters. Yang Fei is a fashion designer in China, so she fit right in with this creative group. We found this to be a very cheerful group that meets every Thursday after lunch to do their crafts and have a good visit among friends.

GRANT TAYLOR PASSES AWAY
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the world lost a good man and dear friend to many. That morning, Grant Frederick Taylor, age 95, passed away at the CHUS Hospital in Sherbrooke, surrounded by family.
The Saturday before, Grant fell in Bury at the Community Center and broke his hip. This brought on many problems and resulted in him passing away. Grant leaves behind his loving
