Derek Grover
DEREK GROVER
COLEBROOK – Derek Wade Grover, 46, of Colebrook, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at the Country Village Healthcare Center in Lancaster, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in West Stewartstown on Sept. 29, 1970, a son to Berkley and Mona( Collins) Grover. Derek was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1988 at Colebrook Academy. In high school, he was active in the band and chorus, and enjoyed participating in the drama club, and he wrote for the school news. Following high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf conflict.
Derek’ s professional career as a community integrator took him to San Diego, Boston, Chicago, and finally back home to work for the Vershire Center in Colebrook. He was an avid reader and writer, and kept many journals. He enjoyed poetry and music, and had a talented singing voice. Derek was a sharp wit, with a sarcastic twist, and will be remembered by all his friends and family for his sense of humor and magnetic personality, and pranks that he loved to play on them.
He is survived by his six siblings and their families, Debbie Brooks and husband Rob of Stewartstown, Daniel Klebe and wife Carrie of Colebrook, Darren Klebe of Colebrook, Michelle Hamilton and husband Mike of Weare, Carmen Rodrique and husband Ronny of Clarksville, and Scott Grover of Columbia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his life-long and closest friend, Rachele Thivierge of Natick, Mass.
He is predeceased by his father in 2007 and his mother in 2014.
There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service and celebration of Derek’ s life will be held in the spring of 2017, of which notice will be given.

Jane Shannon
JANE SHANNON
GROVETON – Jane Clarice( McMillen) Shannon, 80, of Groveton, died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown after a lengthy illness.
Jane was born on Aug. 15, 1936 in Biddeford, Maine, a daughter of Preston and Mae( Reid) McMillen. She lived in the Stark / Groveton area for 58 years coming from Maine and has been a resident of Coos County Nursing Hospital since January of 2016.
Before retiring Jane worked as an LNA at Weeks Medical Center; Country Village Elder Care; and Granite State Independent Living. Over the years she also worked at James River Corp.; in Housekeeping at the Lancaster Motor Inn; and Mittersill Alpine Resort in Franconia. Jane was the first licensed female EMT in Coos County.
She was a member of the Lancaster Assembly of God Church and a past member of the Stark Union Church.
Jane is survived by her children Lauren( Larry) Spargo of Maine; Deborah( Neal) Parks of Stark; Will( Lynne) Mitchell of Ohio; Lewis( Valentina) Niles of Whitefield; Kimberly( Todd) Sirois of Dalton; Erin( Rejean) Bissonnette of Groveton; Michael Shannon of West Stewartstown; Edwin“ Sam”( Donna) Shannon, Jr. of Lunenburg, Vt.; and Harold( Helen) Shannon of Stratford; 22 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren; one sister Sandra( David) Wilson of Lake Alfred, Fla.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; her dog Grace; and two special friends Janet Burgess and Shelia Repko.
She was predeceased by her husband Edwin Shannon, Sr. one daughter Terry Niles; grandson Peter; and one niece Heather.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 from 2-4 p. m. at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral service will follow immediately after at the funeral home with Pastor Seth Frink of the Lancaster Assembly of God Church officiating. Inurnment will be on June 3, 2017 at 11 a. m. in the Emerson Road Cemetery.

Rev. A. Albert Bellefeuille
REV. A. ALBERT BELLEFEUILLE
MANCHESTER – The Reverend Father Albert A. Bellefeuille, 88, of Manchester, died Jan. 21, 2017, at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, after a period of failing health.
Born in Berlin on Feb. 23, 1928, he was the son of Thomas A. and Charlotte( Nichols) Bellefeuille.
Father Bellefeuille was ordained a priest on June 12, 1954 by the Most Reverend Matthew F. Brady, D. D., at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Manchester. He studied at Saint Thomas Seminary, Bloomfield, CT. He completed his ecclesiastical studies at Saint Mary Seminary, Baltimore, MD.
Father Bellefeuille was first assigned as chaplain to Saint Peter Orphanage, Manchester. Later, he served as associate pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Laconia; Saint Anne Church, Berlin; Holy Rosary Church, Rochester; and Saint George Church, Manchester.
Father Bellefeuille was appointed pastor of Saint Brendan Church, Colebrook, where he served for thirty-seven years until his retirement. He remained actively engaged in parish ministry at Saint Brendan Parish.
Family members include a sister, Jean Boivin and her husband, Rodrick; a brother, Francis Bellefeuille; three nieces, Cynthia and Andrea Boivin, and Jennifer Dupuis; and seven nephews, Francis J., Michael, Brian, Blake, David, Paul, and Charl Bellefeuille. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Robert.
Father Bellefeuille will lie in repose Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Saint Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell Street, Manchester, from 9 to 10:45 a. m. The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, will preside at a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11 a. m.
The Rite of Committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Berlin at a later date.
The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, is in charge of the arrangements.
Phyllis J. Pandora
PHYLLIS J. PANDORA
JEFFERSON – Phyllis J. Pandora, 85, died peacefully with family by her side on Jan. 21, 2017, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Pandora was born in Northumberland on Dec. 28, 1931 the daughter of Roveal J. and Dorothy M.( Ellingwood) Brockney.

Sports

For many of her younger years she worked in the old wood mill in North Stratford. Later she became a self employed pastry baker and operated bakeries in Lancaster and Whitefield. Her hobbies included bird watching, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family
Surviving family members include three sons, Edward and wife Theresa, Douglas and wife Yong, Daniel; one daughter Christina; a former daughter-inlaw and very close friend Julie; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Tower of East Burke, and Leona Brown of North Haverhill. She was predeceased by husband Rudolph; daughter Dianna; parents Dorothy and Roveal; and a sister Katherine.
There are no visiting hours. A funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 25, 2017, at 1 p. m. at St. Pauls Church in Lancaster. Reverend Timothy Brooks, pastor, officiated. Burial will be in the spring in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.

SPEEDWAY 51 WINTER BLAST 100
Lyndonville, Vt.’ s Doug Bandy would rather be lucky than good as survived an altercation in turn two of the final lap and nursed his winning car across the start / finish line narrowly edging Waterford, Maine’ s Jamie Heath by a few feet in the Dalton Mountain Motorsports Winter Blast 100, presented by Optical Expressions Berlin, The Sign Depot, North Country Family Restaurant and Around The Clock Auto Repair at Speedway 51 in Groveton, New Hampshire. Entries came from New York, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Vermont and New Hampshire.
A perfect day greeted the racing starved racers and fans as sixty-two cars signed into the pit area, and the jam packed grandstands were treated to a fun, thrill filled afternoon. Concord, Vt.’ s Scott Morrison grabbed the early lead and masterfully dodged stalled vehicles and heavy traffic until lap 60 when Doug Bandy took the point. Bandy was on cruise control as the track grew extremely slick in the late stages of the event. On lap 99. Bandy got together with a lapped car in turn two. He struggled through turn three with Jamie Heath quickly closing in. Bandy limped across the finish
line just about 15 feet ahead of Heath to nail down the victory and grab the four foot winner’ s trophy. Lil Brendan Moodie from Wolcott came home third followed by Kevin Whittum Jr. from Dalton and Donnie Yates from East Montpelier, Vt.
The next event on the calendar at Speedway 51 will be Vintage Snowmobile racing this coming Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10 a. m. The four dates of the Series are Saturday, Jan. 28, Feb. 18. and 25, as well as March 4. There will be points for the entire series and rules, registration and information can all be found on the Speedway 51 webpage.
