Kenney : Retired Educator
St . Louis , MO – Soror Ann Kenney became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on December 17 , 2020 . She earned a bachelor ' s degree in education from West Virginia State College and later earned her master ' s degree in education from the University of Missouri , St . Louis . She became a lifelong educator ; first for the St . Louis Public School System and later for the Wellston School District . She was an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri St . Louis and Forest Park Community College . Soror Kennedy was initiated into the Gamma Omega Chapter in 1987 , earned Silver Star status and was a Life Member . She served as grammateus , graduate advisor , standards chairman , and cochairman of Fashionetta ® . She leaves to cherish her memory Soror Karla Ann Holmes ( Michael ), Anna Katherine Betts ( Richard ), Monsignor Carl Eugene Morris , and Robert Stephen Kenney ( Michelle ), six grandchildren , and one great-grandchild . She is also survived by her sisters Sharon Bryant and Kathy Bryant , and a niece and nephew .
Kirkland : Retired Educator / Diamond Soror
Greenville , SC - Soror Mary Lula Pratt Kirkland became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 4 , 2020 . She received her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics from South Carolina State University . She was initiated into Beta Sigma Chapter in 1944 . Throughout her life , she was involved in numerous religious , cultural , civic , educational , and social activities . Her countless hours of volunteer work included a special citation from the American Red Cross . Soror Kirkland was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she served on several ministries . She was also a member of the National Council of Negro Women , The Links , Inc ., The Girl Friends , Inc ., and a life member of the NAACP . She is survived by her husband Dr . Levi S . Kirkland , son Dr . Levi ( Roslyn ) S . Kirkland , Jr ., daughter Dr . Gail ( Charles ) A . Kirkland-Briscoe , and five grandchildren . She was preceded in death by her four brothers and leaves to cherish her life a host of family and friends .
LeBlanc : Retired Educator / Pearl Soror
Oakland , CA – Soror Lois Elizabeth LeBlanc became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on November 5th , 2020 . She was initiated into Rho Psi Chapter at Xavier University in 1949 . Soror LeBlanc graduated from Xavier University with her BA in education . She went on to earn her MA in education from the University of Michigan . Soror LeBlanc taught high school in New Orleans before moving to California . She taught in the Oakland Unified School District until she retired in 1991 . Soror LeBlanc joined Alpha Nu Omega Chapter in 1959 and was active and involved from that day on . She loved HBCUs especially Xavier University . Soror LeBlanc was a proud member of the Xavier University Alumni Club , the California Retired Teachers Association , and three bridge clubs . Soror LeBlanc will be missed greatly by sorors , her children , family and friends .
Lewis : Retired Educator / Silver Star
Durham , NC – Soror Mamie Ruth Lewis became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 17 , 2020 . She was initiated into the Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter in 1977 . A retired educator , Soror Lewis worked with Durham Public Schools for more than 26 years . She worked part-time as a K-3 tutor with Healthy Start Academy . She served on many committees within the chapter such as membership and public relations and was a member of the 1978 Northern Carolina Cluster committee . Soror Lewis leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all those who loved her .
Lloyd : Educator
Durham , NC – Soror Martha Faye Lewis Lloyd , became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 20 , 2020 . As an educator , Soror Lloyd was employed by Chapel Hill Carrboro Public Schools and Durham Public Schools for over 25 years . In addition to her contributions in the educational arena , she was an active member of the sorority . Those left to cherish her many fond memories are her two daughters , Christy Lloyd Taylor and Tracy Lloyd McCurty ; son , Bryan Douglas Lloyd ; grandchildren , Kyrah Ford , Zuri McCurty , Anthony Taylor , II , Jalen Taylor and Toumani McCurty ; sister , Elizabeth Clanton ; brother , Frank Lewis ; nieces and nephews , Marian Clanton Black , Jersan Carter-Ward , Frank Lewis , III , Johnny Carter , Jr ., Christopher Lewis and Mason Lewis ; and a host of extended family members and friends .
Logan : Retired Educator / Basileus
San Diego , CA – Soror Shirley Mae Jackson Logan became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on January 1 , 2020 . Soror Shirley graduated from Pittsburgh State Teachers College where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education . Following graduation , she relocated to San Diego , California and began working for the San Diego Unified School District . She began her career as a thirdgrade teacher at Stockton Elementary School . She worked in education for 35 years . Soror Logan was an active member of Epsilon Xi Omega Chapter serving as basileus and held several other offices . She was married to Roy E . Logan , ( Kappa Alpha Psi ) who proceeded her in death . She is survived by her son , Reginald Logan , her daughter-in-law Robyn , and grandson , Reginald III , a host of relatives , friends , sorority sisters , including her sister-in-law Martha Logan , and nieces Jennifer Porter Logan and Barbara Logan .
