Theta Zeta Omega Donates Toward HBCU Impact Day
Ocean Springs , MS – Theta Zeta Omega supported the HBCU for Life : A Call to Action : Million Dollar Day Campaign by raising $ 53,500 . Soror Carmen Walters , chapter basileus and president of Tougaloo College , along with her legacies Sorors Taeshun Walters and Tierra Walters Mackie led this extraordinary effort . Theta Zeta Omega ' s HBCU Co-chairs , Sorors Tenesha Batiste and Margaret Bush maintained the chapter ' s momentum with continuous words of encouragement throughout the campaign . As sorors continued to jump on the pink & green train , the donations continued to rise . This remarkable donation to HBCUs helped to establish the Hawkins- Walters Endowed Scholarship for students who pursue a STEM ( Science- Technology-Engineering and Mathematics ) degree at Tougaloo College .
North Mississippi Chapters Hold Founders ' Day Commemoration
Southhaven , MS – Approximately 200 sorority members attended a joint Founders ' Day Commemoration hosted by five north Mississippi chapters ; Theta Upsilon , Theta Psi , Omicron Alpha Omega , Upsilon Iota Omega , and Alpha Alpha Zeta Omega . The program opened with the Omicron Alpha Omega choir and the undergraduates honored the founders with a tribute . Soror Vanessa Rogers Long , International Special Projects Committee Chairman and 20th South Eastern Regional Director , led rededication . The chapters also recognized some of their members ' accomplishments and celebrated each basileus for her leadership . Committed to serving with excellence , the North Mississippi chapters look forward to more collaborative efforts in the near future .

Upsilon Pi Omega Mississippi Chapters ' Billboard Goes Viral
Starkville , MS – Two AKA chapters in Mississippi had a message so critical , so serious they had to put it on a billboard . And their message went viral . The Upsilon Pi Omega Chapter in Starkville , MS collaborated with undergraduate chapter Lambda Eta at Mississippi State University to get out the vote in the 2020 presidential election . The two chapters decided to rent billboard space at a busy roundabout near the university campus that thousands of motorists use each day . Not only did the billboard ' s message " Stroll To The Polls ," reach commuters throughout the months thru election day , a photo featuring the billboard went viral online . After the photo was posted in a private Facebook for Divine Nine Greeks and on a personal account on Twitter , it garnered tens of thousands of likes , shares , retweets , and engagements from all across the country . It was a call to action received — and achieved .

Jackson , TN – The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world on its head , has affected the health of many , and has taken the precious lives of others . Several sorors and families of sorors in the Gamma Alpha Omega Chapter were affected by this novel virus , fought long and hard and eventually recovered successfully .
