Kappa Omega holds virtual Candlelight Vigil . partnered with Dr . Rogsbert Phillips-Reed , an Atlanta breast surgeon and founder of Sisters by Choice , to provide a live conversation to increase public knowledge and awareness of breast cancer . Participants pledged to continue regular breast health at home checks and mammograms . The interview with Dr . Phillips-Reed was conducted by Ms . Tau Omicron Omega Holds Virtual Book Club for the Youth
Dublin , GA – Tau Omicron Omega Chapter started the Ivy Book Club to build youth literacy skills in the community and on social media . The first session premiered on Facebook and a flyer was posted on the chapter ' s social media page . The featured book was " I ' m a Leader " by Samantha Book who is also a member of the sorority . Book club members were asked questions , do you like to read ? Why or why not ? Submissions were emailed to the Ivy Book Club ' s email and 2 won a prize . First place winner was Kaaliyah Pope . Second place winner was Kamden Reaves , a 5th Grader at Ridge Road Elementary in Sandersville , GA . He answered , " I like reading because I like the adventures ." Upsilon Alpha Omega Fundraises in the Fight Against Cancer
Lawrenceville , GA – Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter held a virtual Relay For Life Rally and raised over $ 13,000 in one hour and a record total of $ 25,303 . Because of its efforts , the chapter was congratulated on a Zoom call with Relay For Life leaders and featured on the Relay For Life Gwinnett

County , Georgia social media page for earning the # 3 spot in their top fundraising teams in 2020 . Over the past 23 years , the chapter raised $ 209,000 to help the fight against cancer .
Epsilon Omega Omega Exemplifies Excellence Through Education
Macon , GA – The HBCU Committee and # CAP SM of Epsilon Omega Omega Chapter hosted a virtual HBCU Roundtable to elevate the awareness of Historical Black Colleges and Universities ( HBCUs ) and to enhance the pipeline of students from high school to college . Encouraging students to attend HBCUs as a sustainability measure was the goal of the roundtable . Panelists Ranard Mattox and Juawn Jackson explained the application process including the common application , essay , test scores , and letters of recommendations . They addressed the fundamentals of federal aid , the financial aid process , completing the FAFSA , and the various types of student aid . Mrs . Jacqueline Caskey-James noted that physical and mental health services are available to students to help them achieve academic success , personal development , and lifelong wellness . JaNiya Gibson , a sophomore at Fisk and a graduate of the sorority ' s signature Emerging Young Leaders and ASCEND programs , participated on the panel to give a reflection of campus living from the perspective of an on-campus student and a virtual student during COVID-19 . The takea-ways from JaNiya ' s presentation were time management — manage your time properly by using a planner , remain resilient — remember the reason and purpose you are in school , and enjoy the moment — amazing opportunities awaits you .
Rho Zeta Omega Holds HBCU Virtual Fair
Marietta , GA – Twenty-one schools , two information sessions , 130 + students and parents , 50 + presenters and volunteers , 360 minutes on zoom . That is what it took to accomplish our first HBCU College Fair in a virtual environment . Rho Zeta Omega Chapter held an HBCU fair , under the HBCU for Life Program committee , in support of providing HBCU awareness to the community . Colleges and universities included HBCU ' s from Clark Atlanta , Fort Valley State , Alcorn State , Savannah State , Lincoln University of Missouri , Jackson State , Southern A & M , Prairie View A & M , and Tuskegee to name a few .
