Breaux , and Vice President for Institutional Advancement , Brent Swinton , thanked the chapter and its charitable affiliate , the Ivy Community Charities of Prince George ' s County , Inc ., for its continuing support to ensure students have toiletries and food throughout the year . Chapter members met with Jason Bullock , director of operations at Food Lion , to discuss the chapter ' s and charities ' Target III ( AKA Assist ) initiatives . Following the ribbon cutting ceremony , charities ' members continued to support the pantry with a donation of over 2,000 food and toiletry items .
Upsilon Epsilon Omega Hosts Pink Out ! Holiday Expo
The Pink Out ! Holiday Expo was held live on Facebook and YouTube with a viewership totaling 550 audience members .
Catonsville , MD – Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter hosted its first Pink Out ! Holiday Expo in support of entrepreneurs and small businesses . The goal of the event was to support black-owned , minority-owned , and women-owned businesses through the chapter ' s Black Dollar 365 initiative . Through this initiative , Upsilon Epsilon Omega poured a total of $ 18,000 into black companies in 2020 . During the Pink Out ! Holiday Expo , event participants purchased products from vendors in real-time while hearing business development insight from each speaker . The event encouraged economic empowerment within black communities and celebrated the accomplishments of small businesses . Soror Tanya Dozier of Crown Centric , a successful online marketplace for black businesses , shared insight on creating additional revenue streams . Local award-winning fiction novelist AC Authur highlighted her experience in literary writing . Lastly , Soror Natasha Holloway of Love Me Greek , a highly sought-after Greek apparel line , shared her story on building a business after a setback .

Psi Epsilon Omega Holds Town Hall on Race Relations
Laurel , MD – Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter in partnership with Pearl Elegance Foundation sponsored a virtual town hall discussion titled , " Where Do We Go From Here : A Holistic Approach to Race Relations In The Age of Black Lives Matter ." The event aimed to help educate young men and boys about race relations and give them an opportunity to be a part of important conversations about Black Lives Matter . " We ' ve experienced a lot this year when it comes to race relations in America and we want our young men , boys , and children to be encouraged ," said Benita Swindell , president of Psi Epsilon Omega . " So many of our ancestors have worked hard to ensure that our children can live with a spirit of pride and brotherhood ." The forum keynote speaker was the City of Greenbelt , Maryland Mayor Colin Byrd . He reminded the audience how special Black boys are to society . " Black Boys need love in a world filled with hate ; hate that is especially targeted at black boys . Black boys need love from everybody willing and capable of loving them ." The virtual discussion specifically targeted young black adolescent men and their parents . A panel of local community leaders also participated in the discussion . Audience questions centered around the Black Lives Matter movement and its identity , leveraging the energy and activism of our youth .
