Wiggins : Lt . Colonel U . S . Army
Westchester County , NY – Soror Ethelyn Barbara Wiggins became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She enlisted in the U . S . Army , graduated with a bachelor ’ s degree from Hampton University , and graduate degrees from the University of Maryland and George Washington University in organizational development , leadership , and human resources administration . Soror Wiggins was initiated in 1979 in Epsilon Omega . After serving in the U . S . Army for 20 years , she retired as a Lt . Colonel and then began a career achieving high level corporate positions at several companies in New York . Soror Wiggins retired after 30 years and focused on serving the community . Soror Wiggins was an active member of Zeta Nu Omega Chapter . She was also an active member of YWCA of White Plains Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for Lifting Up Westchester . She was preceded in death by her husband , Charles Wiggins of 57 years , four months prior to her passing . She ’ s survived by her sister , Soror Evelyn Castro , a member of Psi Lambda Omega , and a host of family , friends and sorors .
Williams : Retired Educator / Charter Member / Golden Soror
Portsmouth , VA – Golden Soror Helen Lenyon Williams became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on September 16 , 2020 . She earned a BS degree from Norfolk State University and a MS degree from Columbia University . She began her teaching career in Nelson County , VA and continued in Portsmouth , VA at I . C . Norcom High School and Woodrow Wilson High School business departments until her retirement . She married Charles " Rock " Williams , September 25 , 1966 . This union was blessed with two daughters , Charlene and Nicole . Soror Williams was a member of Gamma Delta Omega Chapter and obtained the status of a Golden Soror , with over 50 years of dedicated service to the sorority . She was a charter member of the Delta Epsilon Chapter at Norfolk State University . She was a lifetime member of St . John Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir . The memory of Soror Williams will be forever cherished by a host of family , friends and sorors .
Williams : Insurance Agency Manager
Mound Bayou , MS – Soror Tracy L . Williams became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on December 1 , 2020 . Soror Williams was initiated into Chi Mu Omega Chapter in 2012 . She received a BBA degree in finance from Delta State University . She was the office manager for State Farm Insurance Agency in Cleveland . A pink Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Incorporated ® memorial bench with her picture , is outside the agency to honor her memory . She was an active member of the Mt . Olive MB Church in Cleveland , where she sang in the choir . She was a member of the Chi Mu Omega Ensemble singing group where her final performance was the chapter ' s Founders ' Day celebration . She served as the chapter ' s pecunious grammateus . Soror Williams leaves behind to cherish her fond memories , her husband , Kelvin Williams , Sr .; two sons , Kelvin Williams , II and Devin Williams ; her mother , Diane Rogers ; five brothers and three sisters ; her State Farm family ; other relatives , friends and her beloved Chi Mu Omega sisters .
Wilson : Charter Member / Golden Soror / Life Member
Washington , DC — Golden Soror Alwilter T . Wilson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on October 17 , 2020 . Soror Wilson was initiated into Beta Alpha Chapter in 1959 while matriculating as an engineering student at FAMU . She was a flutist in the infamous " Marching 100 " band . Soror Wilson transferred to Howard and earned her BS degree in electrical engineering in 1963 . She joined the U . S . Army , Women ' s Army Corp where she served as a scientific programmer as a 1st Lieutenant . Soror Wilson worked as an electrical engineer and computer programmer in private industry and the federal government . She enjoyed genealogy where she spent time cataloging her families ' history . Soror Wilson was an avid Girl Scout leader , an active member of her church of nearly 50 years , and devoted charter member of Xi Zeta Omega where she served as treasurer and worked on many committees . She ’ s survived by her husband of 54 years , her two sons , and her daughter , Soror Shana Wilson and predeceased by her daughter , Soror Mara Wilson .
Williams : Centenarian / Diamond Soror
Lawrenceville , GA – Soror Louise Alberta Williams became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on October 7 , 2020 , at the age of 103 . Diamond Soror Williams was initiated into the Zeta Chapter at Wilberforce University in 1941 and served the sorority for 79 years . At the time of her transition , Soror Williams was a member of Upsilon Alpha Omega in Lawrenceville , GA . She loved the sorority and would often give pearls of wisdom during chapter meetings . Her deep faith in Christ kept her throughout her long , life . She left a message , " Do not cry for me , for I am with my Lord ." Soror Williams was a beautiful mother , an adored grandmother and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her .
Winstead : Professor Emeritus / Retired Educator / Golden Soror / Life Member
Portsmouth , VA – Soror Shirley Stewart Winstead , professor emeritus , Norfolk State University became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on August 9 , 2020 . She was initiated into the Delta Theta Chapter at Elizabeth City State University in 1955 . She earned a bachelor ’ s degree in education from Elizabeth City State University , a master ’ s degree in reading from Old Dominion University and a doctoral degree in education from Virginia Tech . Her career , spanned over 45 years included teaching at four schools in the Chesapeake Public School System , professor emeritus at Norfolk State University , reading diagnostician and professor , director of student teaching and laboratory experiences and interim head of the Department of Secondary Education . She co-authored two reading textbooks which were used at Norfolk State University and other academic programs . Soror Winstead faithfully supported the programs of Gamma Delta Omega Chapter , obtaining the status of Life Member and Golden Soror with over 50 years of service . Cherishing her memory , are her husband , James A . Winstead , Esq ., family , friends and sorors .
