Singleton : Child and Youth Advocate / Life Member
Lansing , MI – Soror Dolly M . Singleton became an Ivy Beyond the Wall October 2020 . Soror Singleton was initiated in Delta Tau Omega Chapter in 1975 ; and was a life member . She served the chapter in numerous capacities over the years as a dedicated member of the bylaws , budget and finance , fall round-up , history , music and protocol committees and co-chairman of the senior salute and scholarship committee . Soror Singleton earned a BA in Social Science from Wiley College and an MA in Counseling from Michigan State University . She was passionate about youth and had a distinguished career for over 25 years with the Ingham County Probate Court in the child abuse and neglect division . Soror Singleton served on the Ingham County Council on Children and Youth , and on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing and the Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect , respectively . She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir .
Smith-Jackson : Educator / Pearl Soror / Life Member
Atlantic City , NJ – Soror Mary C . " Peggy " Smith-Jackson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on October 4 , 2020 . Soror Smith-Jackson graduated from Virginia State College ( Virginia State University ) earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in Library Science . Soror Smith-Jackson was initiated into the Alpha Epsilon Chapter in 1952 . She received certification for special education from Glassboro State College ( Rowan University ) and had a stellar 32-year career as an educator . She was awarded the Governor ' s Teacher of the Year , and a citation by the State General Assembly as an outstanding educator for North Main Street School . Soror Smith-Jackson became a charter member of Theta Kappa Omega Chapter in 1966 . She held a lifetime membership , and her years of dedicated service earned her pearl soror status . She was Theta Kappa Omega ' s Woman of the Year , and the North Atlantic Region ' s Golden Soror of the Year . She leaves to cherish her memory three sons , a host of relatives , friends , and beloved sorors .
Small : Retired Educator / Former Basileus / Golden Soror
Mobile , AL – Soror Gertrude Small became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was a member of the Mt . Zion Baptist Church . Soror Small was initiated into Beta Pi Chapter and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama State University . She received a master ’ s degree from Tuskegee University . She was a retired middle school English teacher and an elementary school assistant principal in the Mobile County School System for 30 years . Soror Small served as basileus of Delta Theta Omega Chapter . She was preceded in death by her mother , Olivia Roberson , and brother Orpheus Jones . She leaves to cherish her , brother , Steve ( Bobbie ) Small , nephew , Bradley ( Sarah ) Jones , nieces , Kimberli ( Carl ) Davis , Denise Small , great-nephews Justin Small , Austin Small , great-niece Justine Davis , Goddaughter , Gilaine Nettles and a host of other family members , relatives , sorors , and friends .
Smith : Information Technology / Silver Star
Greenville , SC – Soror Gertie Smith became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on September 7 , 2020 . Soror Smith was initiated into Theta Gamma Chapter in the fall of 1973 at the University of South Carolina . She later joined the Epsilon Tau Omega Chapter , Greenville , South Carolina and served on the finance committee for many years . Soror Smith is survived by her husband , Kenneth Smith ; one daughter , Jasmine Smith ; five sisters , Juanita Sitton , Carolyn Floyd , Mary ( Dwight ) Beasley , Sarah Floyd and Julia Floyd ; two brothers , Theodore ( Doris ) Floyd and Julius Floyd ; one grandson , Alexander Marple . Soror Smith leaves to cherish her memory a host of relatives , friends and sorors .
Stamps : U . S . Federal Contract Specialist
San Diego , CA – Soror Oshuntoki " Toki " Stamps became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 14 , 2020 . She was a licensed cosmetologist while working her way through Talladega College . She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and later earned a Master of Arts degree in business . She later worked as a United States federal contract specialist . She loved traveling and one of her last trips was to England with her sorority sisters . Soror Stamps was a devoted and active member of Epsilon Xi Omega Chapter . Soror Stamps is preceded in death by her mother . She was survived by her son , Tyler Curry ; her father , Robert Tucker , Sr .; her brothers , Tony Tucker and Robert Tucker , Jr ., her sister Taisha Tucker , five nephews , one niece and a host of friends , relatives , and her sorority sisters .
Stringfellow : Retired Educator / Silver Star / Life Member
Las Vegas , NV – Soror Minnie Stringfellow became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Stringfellow was initiated in 1977 . She was a Silver Star and Life Member . She graduated with high honors with double master ' s degrees in education and academic administration from Prairie View University . She was a retired educator and one of the first Black women elected to the Houston Independent School Board . She was a member of Theta Theta Omega Chapter and a 42- year member of the sorority . Soror Minnie Stringfellow was mother to Soror Marvella Stringfellow Forte who is also an Ivy Beyond the Wall and leaves to cherish her memory her granddaughter Soror Marwood Leatrice Forte .
