The group included state legislators , pastors , foundations , and business owners . The Packing Party with a Purpose was filled with activities that were centered on Dr . King ' s legacy . The sorority ' s international targets participated in donating and preparing care packages for our deployed troops . Over 250 pounds of snacks , toiletries , and books were mailed to individual servicemen and women overseas . While packing , sorors shared their compelling experiences , " Her " stories ", of the Civil Rights movement and participated in history trivia of the " I Have A Dream " speech . It was a virtual day of reflection of African Americans making history , recognizing community leaders , and having fellowship .
Omicron Rho Omega Helps Make a Global Impact
North Charleston , SC – Omicron Rho Omega sorors exemplified excellence and participated in the chapter ' s first " See and Sew ." This virtual event was well attended and allowed members to participate in a sewing demonstration on how to make pillowcase dresses and t-shirts . Members completed 200 pillowcase dresses and 75 t-shirts , which were donated to Haitian girls and boys . From the comfort of their own homes , sorors collected enough school supplies to fill 55 backpacks which were donated to various learning centers within the community . Finally , chapter members collected and donated 50 pairs of eyeglasses to the Lions Club International to assist optical missions around the world . The chapter received the first-place award for medium size chapters for Target 5 : Global Impact during the 67th South Atlantic Regional Conference as a result of sorors ' teamwork . As Target 5 : Global Impact Chairman , Cynthia Moody led with determination , and the full support of Soror Carla Stewart , chapter basileus .

Beta Zeta Omega Hosts HBCU Virtual College Fair
Orangeburg , SC – # CAP SM Beta Zeta Omega ' s Historically Black Colleges and Universities ( HBCU ) Virtual College Fair , " Don ' t Call It A Dream , Call It A Plan ." was spearheaded by tour guides , Sorors Desiree Chavis and Debra W . Norman . The # CAP SM students virtually toured nine HBCUs located in South Carolina , Georgia , Florida , and North Carolina . The virtual college event was designed to expand the students ' knowledge of the varied , unique , comprehensive college opportunities , and quality educational experiences provided by HBCUs . This year we have had student attendance across the Orangeburg area . Students from Bowman , Lake Marion , Edisto , Orangeburg-Wilkinson , Calhoun County High Schools as well as the high school for health professions participated in the Beta Zeta Omega # CAP SM experience . Beta Zeta Omega members continues to share information about available scholarship and college fair opportunities with # CAP SM students and survey students about the effectiveness of these sessions .

Finally , Soror Tremble put a strong emphasis on managing the burden of student loan debt , by borrowing the least amount necessary . Ms . Wendy Kahill , a representative from Citizens Bank , rounded out the program by giving tips on what every budget should include . The audience followed with some insightful questions confirming the financial information was thought provoking and capable of shaping some sound financial habits . Committee Chairman Soror Kelly Green-Thomas , along with the president of the Black Student Union , provided closing remarks and let the guests know to be on the lookout for more financial seminars .
