School . The principals of the schools were invited to attend a virtual meet and greet to learn about the two schools selected . A total of seventeen sorors were present at the meet and greet , along with the two school principals . Two collection stations were set up to ensure that AKA national COVID- 19 guidelines were in
Sigma Epsilon Omega Chapter collected personal protective equipment for two local Title One schools for MLK Day of Service . place . Sorors Asia King and Cassandra Miller- Washington delivered personal protective equipment to Lindsey Elementary and Warner Robins Middle Schools . Each school received a MLK Service Day note , and over 1000 masks , 150 bottles of hand sanitizer , 400 hand wipes , and 60 disinfectant spray bottles , to ensure students and faculty members remain safe and healthy for the remainder of this school year .
Kappa Upsilon Omega Hosts Hat , Tea and Pearls Reactivation Celebration
Aiken , SC – Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapter hosted a Hat , Tea and Pearls Reactivation Celebration in honor of our 113th Founders ' Day of Sisterhood and Service . Recognition was given to the historic elevation of Soror Kamala Harris to the Office of Vice President of the United States as well as the celebration of reclaiming several of our " Pearls ." According to the international membership committee , active membership has reached its highest levels in the history of our beloved sorority due in no small part to the record numbers of soror reclamations . Kappa Upsilon Omega was very excited to invite inactive members to rededicate back to the sorority . This event brought seven reactivated sorors and two transfers to the event . These reactivating sorors enabled members of the chapter to proclaim , " It ' s Service Time !" Reactivated members are busy joining and participating in the target committees and other committees exemplifying excellence with their talents . Kappa Upsilon Omega ' s basileus is Soror Miriam Hicks , anti-basileus is Soror Stephanie Franklin and Cluster VI Coordinator , Soror Velice Cummings .

Phi Omega Omega Gets Proclamation Approved and Celebrates AKA Day
Alcohu , SC – Phi Omega Omega rose above the limitations of the pandemic to acknowledge important days within the sorority and chapter history , Founders ' Day and Phi Omega Omega ' s Charter Day . To honor our founders and charter members , Ivy Leaf ® reporter and Founders ' Day Committee Chair , Soror Keyana Prince , submitted the charge to create a countywide celebration and led the chapter in seeking approval from the Clarendon County Council to proclaim January 15th as AKA Day in Clarendon County . The Clarendon County Council approved the proclamation . In observance of AKA Day in Clarendon County and our sorority ' s 113th Founders ' Day , sorors of Phi Omega Omega collaborated with city officials to decorate the town clock area , located on the grounds of the courthouse . Raising awareness of the newly approved proclamation , the local newspaper published an article sharing the significance to the community . We are honored to have January 15th set aside as a day of annual recognition and remembrance for the past and present contributions of our beloved sorority . Nineteen years of excellence was celebrated during our first virtual charter day program .
