Nu Lambda Omega Partners to Host COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

Atlanta , GA – City of Atlanta Councilwoman Andrea L . Boone and Reverend Doctor Gregory A . Sutton , Pastor , Jackson Memorial Baptist Church partnered to host a vaccination clinic for the Southwest Atlanta community . To serve the community and provide logistical assistance to the church , the sorors of Nu Lambda Omega were invited to support this effort by our very own Soror Regina Crothers ( NLO 6th chapter basileus ). Nu Lambda Omega served over 2,150 people in our community receiving the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine and served over 600 people in the community receiving the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine . To complete the process , Nu Lambda Omega sorors supported the second phase of the Pfizer vaccine serving , over 2,150 people in our community returned to Jackson Memorial Baptist Church to secure their second shot . Recognizing the death toll and economic impact on the Southwest Atlanta community , Senator Raphael Warnock , Congresswoman Nikema Williams , City of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottom , Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington and City of Atlanta Councilman Michael Julian Bond were present and hosted press conferences of which our Basileus , Soror Valencia Bean was invited to participate . As our sisterhood take steps to return to serving " significantly " and " safely ," the sorors of Nu Lambda Omega Chapter leveled up to serve all mankind in EXCELLENCE .
Pi Alpha Omega Announces R . I . S . E Signature Service Program
Atlanta , GA – Pi Alpha Omega Chapter has announced the development of the R . I . S . E . Signature Service Program . R . I . S . E , which stands for resilient , independent , self-sufficient , and empowered , is designed with the
support of the Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services to assist with transitioning young women ages 18-21 from dependency to independence and self-sufficiency . The R . I . S . E . program will provide opportunities for young women to live a productive and successful life by thriving in the following areas : housing - ensure young women are knowledgeable and prepared to obtain reliable housing and assistance with household management skills ; financial literacy - teach budgeting , personal financial management , and investing ; education - provide mentors and coaches to assist young women in achieving their individual educational goals ; health and spiritual wellness - encourage healthy living and inspire spiritual wellness to empower life-long sustainable habits ; civic responsibility - offer opportunities for young women to participate in civic engagement through discussion , voting , and volunteerism . The program is scheduled to launch in the fall and continue through May 2022 . Program participants will receive a monetary stipend for completing the program . Pi Alpha Omega ' s R . I . S . E . program is led by Soror Rita Gibson , chairman , and Soror Jacqueline Baker , co-chairman . Soror Brianca Martin is the basileus .
Lambda Epsilon Omega Hosts Virtual Founders Day
Decatur , GA – Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapter made history hosting the first ever virtual metro Atlanta Founders ’ Day Celebration . This year ' s virtual celebration , chaired by Former Supreme Grammateus Charletta Wilson Jacks , was an " Experience " that began with activities focusing on leadership , service , and sisterhood . The virtual experience began with a " Sisterhood Kickoff Jazz Concert " and an " Undergraduate DJ Night ", followed by a " Sunday ' s Best Grace Filled Ecumenical Service .” Also , the 15 Metro Atlanta graduate chapter basilei held a roundtable discussion , " Voices at the Leadership Table — A Poised Moment ." The undergraduate sorors held two talk shows — the " Pink Table Talk ." The celebration continued with the Pink Goes Red Celebration — " Poised for Healthy Living " featuring a healthy cooking demonstration . Metro Atlanta sorors had the opportunity to shop at two virtual vending pop-up shops — " A Poised Affair " and " A Graceful Affair ." The Lambda Epsilon Omega hosts historic first virtual Metro Atlanta Founders ’ Day . culminating event featured Soror Sunny Hostin discussing the debut of her book and a special guest at the formal observance program . This program featured tributes to the newest diamond , golden , pearl , and silver sorors and our Ivies Beyond the Wall . With over 2,500 sorors participating , the first virtual Metro Atlanta Founders ’ Day experience was a success !
