Excitement flooded social media as participants posted photos completing their race alone or with immediate family . All received a race bib , event medal and t-shirt . Omega offered a virtual event to the 467 registered participants . With over fifteen workshops available and topics ranging from the sorority ' s targets , STEM education , resume writing , mental health awareness , two Grow with Google workshops , and the " All Because I Matter " youth forum , held in conjunction with the Martin Luther King Day of Service , there was something for all in attendance . During the Ivy AKAdemy , participants had an opportunity to visit the virtual vendors as well as pop into the virtual dancehall where a DJ played all the greatest hits . Soror Elaine H . Bryant serves as Basileus of Gamma Theta Omega .
Alpha Alpha Theta Omega Takes the Train from Harlem to the National Gallery

Tampa , FL – The Alpha Alpha Theta Omega ( AATO ) train has left Harlem and arrived at the National Gallery ! Thanks to the leadership of Target 4 in collaboration with the connection committee , AATO hosted a successful event illustrating our journey through time while we learned all about the significance of the Black vote throughout American history . This event , hosted by Curator Celeste Davis , included a discussion of artists from the Harlem Renaissance period and Amy Sherald the talented artist who painted the Michell Obama portrait and Vanity Fair cover of Breonna Taylor . Throughout the event , Curator Davis focused on the impact the Black Arts movement had on civil rights and voting . This event was particularly impactful in light of the general election and the ongoing conversation of voter suppression . AATO was chartered on June 30 , 2018 , and comprised of 50 members to serve the communities in Northern Hillsborough and Pasco Counties , Florida .
Gamma Theta Omega Hosts Virtual Ivy Akademy
Tampa , FL – Gamma Theta Omega Chapter in partnership with Gamma Theta Omega , Incorporated , hosted its first virtual Ivy AKAdemy Celebration . Event chairman , First Anti-Basileus , Tangela D . DuPree coordinated the event using the virtual Hop-in platform . Phi Phi Omega Hosts Pink Goes Red for A Healthy Heart – Nothing Beats It !
Alpharetta , GA – Members of Phi Phi Omega Chapter hosted a two-part Pink Goes Red event titled- Pink Goes Red for A Healthy Heart-Nothing Beats It . This event was held virtually with 115 in attendance . Part one of the program featured Mr . John Lewis Owner / CEO of Energy Fitness , Ms . Carla Smith vice-president of Metro Atlanta American Heart Association and Ms . Celeste Johnson , author and health coach of HOPE . The program included guided exercise and information about heart health and managing stress . Mr . John Lewis led attendees in simple exercises designed to warm up the body and get the heart pumping . Ms . Carla Smith followed by leading a discussion about heart disease , symptoms , and preventative measures such as eating a healthy diet , exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy weight . Ms . Celeste Johnson wrapped up the evening by leading participants through a fun dance routine that offered another way to relieve stress . Part two of the program was titled “ Opening Up Your Heart Restorative Yoga for Beginners ” and led by Soror Oteia Morris , family nurse practitioner and member of Phi Phi Omega . Soror Morris led participants through deep stretching and breathing exercises accompanied by soothing music . Phi Phi Omega Basileus is Vanessa J . Iota Psi Omega and Eta Xi Celebrate Founders ' Day
Athens , GA – Iota Psi Omega along with Eta Xi Chapter celebrated a virtual
Founders ' Day at 11:08 AM . " Keeping It Together While Apart " served as the timely theme for this esteemed occasion . Sorors wore pink and green attire with their pearls . All golden and silver sorors wore tiaras and were recognized by Soror Priscilla Jones . " Celebrating Alpha Kappa Alpha ' s Twenty Pearls ," was shown following prayer by Soror Linda McGhee , greetings by Soror Chelsea Frimpong , and recognition of our frontline workers by Sorors Olivet James-Robinson , Ijeoma Ashi and Tylar Norman . Soror Tiffany Wright Alexander introduced her sister , Soror Natalie Wright Sigman as IPO ' s incoming basileus , to give the state of the chapter address . Soror Courtney Britt later introduced Eta Xi ' s basileus , Soror Morgan Jackson , to also report the state of the chapter . Each soror ' s address was inspiring and challenging during these difficult times in moving the chapters forward . Sorors Leah Phillips , Akiera Palm , Deborah Greene and London Lacoste provided a Kahoot founders ' activity
