Thoughtful Thursday ' s Paint Night included 32 artists who relaxed through art using their imaginations for their art masterpieces . PRO wrapped up the week on Friday , February 5 , 2021 , to end our virtual heart week , with Zumba at Blu ' s Dance Studio with 54 participants and a $ 75 donation to help the economically disadvantaged and underserved youth . Zumba gives aerobic and anaerobic benefits to maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system and helps to de-stress . Richmond , VA – On October 24 , 2020 , amid an ongoing global pandemic , Upsilon Omega Chapter in Richmond , VA celebrated its 95th Anniversary via Zoom ! Although the chapter was forced to cancel plans for a grand gala celebration , the Zoom call was no less impactful in acknowledging Upsilon Omega ' s 95 years of sisterhood and service , from its chartering in 1925 to its present-day impact in the Richmond community at large .
Delta Omega Celebrates 100 Years
Petersburg , VA – Members of Delta Omega Chapter , Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated ® in Petersburg , Virginia , launched its 100th Anniversary celebration via Zoom on February 26 , 2021 , the date of its chartering . At the February chapter meeting , congratulatory greetings were provided by Supreme Basileus Dr . Glenda Glover , and Mid-Atlantic Regional Director , Soror Jennifer King Congleton . The chapter has been honored with many accolades , including a proclamation from the City of Petersburg , newspaper releases , television interviews , congratulatory greetings from state and local officials and a billboard on Interstate 95 .

The chapter ' s most significant honor was approval of the first historical marker to recognize a Chapter of AKA , as opposed to an individual soror . The Virginia State Board of Historical Resources approved the marker ' s creation on December 10 , 2020 . Chapter members fellowshipped in style with matching blinged-out tee shirts bearing a custom anniversary logo . The celebration included a brief program and candle lighting ceremony to honor the occasion . The grand finale featured an original video presentation documenting the chapter ' s history . The video highlighted each of Upsilon Omega ' s basilei , a history of the chapter ' s chartering , highlights of Upsilon Omega sisterly fellowship , community service , chapter signature and EETS5 target programming . Surprise anniversary greetings and a warm congratulatory message was delivered to the chapter during a visit from Madame Regional Director , Jennifer King-Congleton , which closed out the event . 119 sorors participated on the Zoom call . The chapter anniversary video was also made available for viewing on the Mid-Atlantic Regional website .
