Eta Eta Omega Global Impact on Lives
Fort Pierce , FL – Eta Eta Omega connected with local and global communities , extending services to many during these challenging times . In observance of Global Impact Day , Eta Eta Omega ' s " Spring Kleaning " donation drive made a significant impact for Soles4Souls , 321 pairs of shoes donated ; Lions Club International , 104 pairs of eyeglasses given ; 34 pillowcases donated to provide dresses and shirts for Haiti . Coordinators Shearon and Kirsten Demps , Basileus Denise Smith , and other sorors accepted the items curbside then packaged and shipped ten large boxes
Eta Eta Omega members with community partner Crystal Samuel , Fort Pierce chapter of Lions Club International . to recipients . Community partner Crystal Samuel , chair of Fort Pierce Lions Club International accepted the generous donation on the campus of Frances K . Sweet Elementary School , another community partner . Additionally , Eta Eta Omega engaged in educating communities in Indian River and St . Lucie counties and beyond to promote COVID-19 vaccinations . Sorors have worked collaboratively with churches , health agencies , recreation centers , and other groups to alleviate apathy and increase optimism . Eta Eta Omega ' s Dr . Juliette Lomax-Homier continues to be a resource regarding women ' s and other health issues often neglected during the pandemic , and in response to the challenges in maintaining grade-level competency , in minority communities , entrepreneur Soror Nicole Smith founded Kids on Wings , Ed . Inc . to teach youths via the arts .
Upsilon Xi Omega Hosts Pink Goes Red for Heart Health
Ft . Lauderdale , FL – Upsilon Xi Omega and Sigma Chi Chapters partnered to present a virtual educational session on heart disease and women ' s health . The event fulfills the requirements of Target 2 : Women ' s Healthcare and Wellness . Sorors Yolande McCray and Rhonda Skinner co-chaired the event . Basileus Ramona Reliford , Anti-Basileus Jenell Blake , committee members and other chapter sorors welcomed over 75 guests . The purpose of the event was to bring awareness to the number one killer of women , heart disease . Making positive choices to get screened annually and asking questions about heart health , can be the difference between life and death . Community partners included Florida Cardiovascular Associates , Wilkins & Westbrook Nutrition Counseling , LLC , and Xcytefitness . Special guests included Broward County judges : Florence Barner . Jackie Powell , Tabitha Black , and Kal Evans . The evening began with informative presentations from Dr . William Alexis ( cardiologist ), who discussed heart
attack symptoms and risk factors unique to women , and Whitney Wilkins ( registered dietician , LDN ), who talked about heart health and nutrition . Xavier Bryant ( fitness trainer ) created an exercise video which left attendees " Xcyted to Get Fit ". The game Kahoot was played with prizes to encouraged attendees to have fun in the heart health learning experience .

The night ended with a testimony from Soror Yolanda Darville . She left the guests inspired to “ Be their Own Heart Hero .”
Zeta Rho Omega Knock the Ball Out of the Park
Ft . Lauderdale , FL – Zeta Rho Omega Chapter had a record setting year for its many program activities during a year filled with challenges due to COVID-19 .. Scholarships are a serious matter and are necessary to assist our # CAP SM seniors and general high school seniors . The chapter canceled its major fundraiser , Pink Ice : Black Is The New Pink in person event which meant there was only $ 21,000.00 available to award to a record number of seniors . At one of the Zoom chapter meetings , it was stated that there was a shortage of scholarship funds . As a result , sorors stepped up to the plate and made pledges to donate over $ 30,000.00 . The chapter scored big with over $ 51,000.00 in scholarships for 2020 ! Zeta Rho Omega knocked the ball out of the park virtually with its array of international programs : Monthly # CAP SM workshops with over 30 seniors ; HBCU 5K run ; Minding Your Mental Health ; Black Business Expo ; and Pink Girls ( elementary age ) activities . Most activities and workshops had a record number of attendees . The sisterly relations committee introduced new activities to assist chapter members and their families during the pandemic to include card showers , food delivery , phone calls , and resources . The chapter hit a home run with service to all mankind and sisterhood at its absolute finest .
