Theta Tau Omega Hosts Virtual HBCU Panel
Bridgeport , CT – In support of Target 1 : HBCU for Life and Signature Program # CAP SM , Theta Tau Omega Chapter hosted an HBCU alumna panel for participating students . The focus of the session was to provide students with an interactive and informative experience of HBCUs by engaging in a virtual college tour and to learn from a panel discussion , which included alumna and a current HBCU student . During this session , students visited Morgan State University , Hampton University , Clark Atlanta University , Spelman College , and Morehouse College through virtual tours .
Heron , MD , chief patient officer , Pfizer Inc . and Susan Silbermann , global advisor , Pfizer Biopharmaceuticals Group , who both led efforts in the development and distribution of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine . The event earned over 700 views on Facebook Live and YouTube . Numerous viewers noted that they were skeptics of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the presentation ; and they went on to receive their vaccination .
An Armchair Chat , hosted by Omicron Upsilon Omega Chapter , in collaboration with The Cultured Pearl Foundation , Inc ., was a virtual panel discussion on facts regarding the covid-19 vaccine .

Facts about each HBCU were shared via PowerPoint and a panel discussion was facilitated by committee member , Soror Tashana Schmidt-Leeing . Participants of the HBCU panel included : Soror Mishonda James ( Shaw ), Soror Alexandra Dicks ( Howard ), Soror Mistee Parker ( Tuskegee ) and current student , Kayla Mackey ( Morgan State ).

Norwalk , CT – Omicron Upsilon Omega Chapter , in collaboration with The Cultured Pearl Foundation , Inc ., hosted a live-streamed event focused on informing communities of color about the COVID-19 Vaccine . The event , perfectly named " An Armchair Chat : Arming You with the Facts About the COVID-19 Vaccine ," offered attendees to receive unbiased information and answers , in a forum where diverse views and opinions about the vaccine were respected . The forum was moderated by Connecticut ' s journalist , Gwen Edwards , who is an award-winning producer and host of " Our Lives " for News 12 Connecticut . Xi Omega Hosts Virtual Triple Negative Breast Cancer Forum
Washington , DC – Compared with other races , black women are more likely to be found to have an aggressive form of the disease called triple negative breast cancer ( TNBC ), which has a poorer prognosis , in part , because there are not targeted therapies to treat it .
