Annapolis , MD – Soror Lucille Virginia Sharps Salisbury became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on January 13 , 2021 . She was initiated into Delta Pi Omega Chapter in 1959 . Her favorite chapter activity was the Calendar Girl Project . She graduated from Bowie State College ( University ). She worked for the Anne Arundel County School System for more than 33 years . She was a teacher , vice-principal , principal , pupil personnel worker , special assistant to the superintendent , and retired as the director of student support services . After retirement , she volunteered with the County Health Department and was a certified hospice worker . She also served her church , Mt . Zion United Methodist Church . Soror Salisbury is survived by her children , Faye Salisbury , Terrence Salisbury , Soror Dana Blair , son-in-law Wade Blair , two sisters , seven grandchildren , and many relatives and friends .
Sampson : Retired Federal Government Director
Wilmington , DE – Soror Agnes Patricia Sampson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was a graduate of Wesley College . Employed by the U . S . Federal Government for 40 years , she retired in 2009 as the regional director of Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity in the Philadelphia region . Soror Sampson was initiated into Zeta Omega Chapter in 2004 and was active until her death . She chaired the chapter ' s EAF committee , implementing projects for fundraising . She was a member of Ezion-Mt . Carmel United Methodist Church , serving on the trustee board and as a family ministries program leader . She was a member of the Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity , Inc ., Wilmington Alumni Chapter . She leaves to cherish her memory , a husband of 44 years , Nathaniel T . Sampson , Jr .; sons , Sean McDowell and Byron Anthony Sampson ; mother , Catherine L . Thomas ; siblings , Joseph Ralph Thomas , Jr . ( Bette ), Carolyn Haylock , Catherine Jones ( Douglas ), Soror Juanita Bernard , and Michael Thomas , Sr . ( Cassandra ); and a host of in-laws , nieces , nephews , cousins , and friends .
Sanders : Retired Educator
Evanston , IL – Golden Soror Rosamond " Roz " Sanders became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She attended Tennessee State University and National College of Education , where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1969 . Soror Rosamond served for 25 years in various teaching and administrative capacities within Evanston School District 65 . She often served as the musical director and principal administrator for activities about Black History Month . Upon her retirement , she maintained her eagerness to expand her knowledge of computers . She landed a part-time position with Northwestern University in the Alumni Records Department until her " official retirement " in 2012 . She was a member of Delta Chi Omega Chapter and a former chapter basileus ( 1965 ¬ -1966 ). She was a member of Second Baptist Church for 75 years . Her activities included singing in the church choir and serving as a member of the soup kitchen ministry . She leaves to cherish her memory : her husband , Raymond T , children , grandchildren , great-grandchildren , and many relatives and friends .
Saulsby : Retired / Golden Soror / Life Member
Orlando , FL – Golden Soror and Life Member Deloris Wallace Saulsby became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on Monday , January 11 , 2021 , after a lengthy illness . Soror Saulsby was initiated into Gamma Eta Chapter in 1957 at Knoxville College in Tennessee . As a Delta Omicron Omega Chapter member , she held numerous offices , including basileus and committee chairmanships . In addition , she was well known for decorating and was responsible for the beautification of Founders ' Day celebrations , clusters , regional conferences , and the 2002 Boule held in Orlando , Florida .
Session : Retired Administrator / Former Basileus / Pearl Soror / Life Member
Philadelphia , PA – Pearl Soror Bessie Session became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 11 , 2021 . She was initiated in 1953 into Gamma Theta Chapter at Hampton Institute ( currently Hampton University ) with a BS degree and an M . Ed . from Temple University . Her career began as a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia . Later , she served as a counselor , vice-principal , administrative assistant to the district superintendent , and retired as director of comprehensive student support services . As a member of Omega Omega Chapter , she served on numerous committees and became the 23rd Basileus from 1993-1996 . In addition , Soror Session established the Annual Day of Sharing that became the chapter ' s signature event , Annual Educational Summit , and Calendar Girl . Other organizational affiliation : Dr . Ruth Wright Hayre Scholarship Fund . She was a member of Mt . Olivet Tabernacle Baptist . Her husband , Albert Session , preceded her in death , and granddaughter Andrea Session . She leaves to cherish her memory , brother , Algie Williams ; daughters , Leah Session-Aikens and Nina Session White ; four granddaughters ( legacy Soror Ashley Session ), many relatives , friends , and sorors .
Shields : Educator / Former Basileus
Providence , RI – Soror Sophia L . Shields became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 28 , 2021 . Soror Shields was initiated into Theta Psi Omega Chapter in 1975 . She was the 11th Basileus of Theta Psi Omega Chapter and the graduate advisor of Pi Theta Chapter . She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University and a Master of Education degree from Cambridge College . She taught in the Providence School Department for 29 years . In addition , she worked for three years for the Salvation Army Childcare Center as the Director of Daycare Services . She was a member of AREME Chapter # 3 Order of the Eastern Star and Congdon Street Baptist Church in Providence . She leaves to cherish her memory , a sister , Annie Shields , a niece and two cousins , and a host of friends .
