Rawls : Retired Educator / Silver Star
Orlando , FL – Soror Ethel Pearl Mott Rawls became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Rawls was initiated in Nu Iota Omega Chapter in 1982 . She was affiliated with the Delta Omicron Omega until her health failed . While active in Delta Omicron Omega Chapter , she held the offices of anti-basileus , basileus , and graduate advisor of the Pi Psi Chapter at the University of Central Florida . She received the chapter ' s Soror of the Year Award in 2002 . Soror Rawls taught elementary school for the Orange County Public School System for 35 years . She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church . Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter and son , Angela and Michael ( Tamara ); loving brother and sister , Lee Edward Mott and Jacqueline Kelly ; nieces and nephews , Stephanie , Porscha , Jeanelle , Stephen , and Justin ; church members , sorority members and an abundance of family and friends .
Ray : Retired Director of Clinical / Psychological Services / Pearl Soror / Life Member
Philadelphia , PA – Soror Vivian Derricotte Ray became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 11 , 2021 . She earned a BA degree in elementary education and was initiated into Gamma Epsilon Chapter from Cheyney State College ( currently Cheyney University of Pennsylvania ). She earned her master ' s and doctorate degrees from Temple University . Her professional career began as an elementary school teacher . She was appointed as a school psychologist and became a director of clinical / psychological services for the School District of Philadelphia . She retired after 35 years of service . As an active member of Omega Omega Chapter , she attended many NARCs and Boules . Soror Ray was affiliated with several other organizations : Philadelphia Chapter of Chums , Inc ., Coordinating Council of Frontiers International Philadelphia Club , two Red Hatters Clubs , and the American Bridge Association . She was an active member of the African Episcopal Church of St . Thomas . Her husband , Artis Ray ; brothers , Walter Derricotte , Jr . and James Butler , preceded Soror Ray in death . She leaves to cherish her memory , a host of relatives , friends , and sorors .
Rhodes : Retired Educator / Golden Soror / Life Member
Jackson , MS – Beta Delta Omega mourns the loss of our 28th President , Golden Soror Lelia Gaston Rhodes . Soror Rhodes became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on December 8 , 2020 . Soror Rhodes was a native of Jackson , MS , and received a BS from Jackson College , a Master of Science from Atlanta University , and a Ph . D . from Florida State University . Soror Rhodes was a retired educator , librarian , and Hinds County Election Commissioner . Soror Rhodes was initiated in Beta Delta Omega Chapter in 1959 and was Life and Golden Member . Soror Rhodes served as president of Beta Delta Omega from 1987-1988 .
Richardson : Human Resources
St . Louis , MO – Soror Janice Marie Hall Richardson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on January 31 , 2021 . Soror Richardson received her BS from Lindenwood University and worked in HR at Lucent Technologies until retirement in 2001 . In 1975 , she married her high school sweetheart , Larry D . Richardson . They were married for 46 years . They traveled abroad , volunteered in their community , and served as elders at West Presbyterian Church . Soror Richardson was initiated into Gamma Omega Chapter in March 2000 . Her memory will be cherished by her husband , siblings , family , and friends . Her AKA legacy will live on through her Goddaughters , Sorors Melissa and Melinda Oliver .
Ripley : Retired Corporate Executive / Former Basileus / Former International Chairman / Golden Soror / Life Member
Newark , DE – Soror Bernice Elaine Ripley became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She received a bachelor ' s degree from California State College ( PA ) and a master ' s degree from the University of Pittsburgh . Following a brief teaching career , she joined Avon Products and held positions as district manager , division manager , and director of training and development . She later became vice president of global learning and development for MasterCard international and president of BER Dynamics . Soror Ripley was initiated into Alpha Sigma Chapter in 1967 . She served as basileus of Pi Mu Omega Chapter and Zeta Omega Chapter . She was active on local , regional , and international levels ; she conducted training sessions at boules , regional conferences , and leadership seminars . In addition , she served as the international chairman of internal leadership training for the external service committee . She leaves to cherish her memory , her husband of 52 years , William Ripley ; daughter , Soror DeLayne Robinson ( Li ' Rae ); sons William Ripley and Collyn Ripley ; daughterin-law , Editha Freeman ; seven grandchildren ; six great-grandchildren ; one sister ; two brothers , many relatives , friends , and dear sorority sisters .
Rush : Retired Educator
Salisbury , NC – Soror Margaret Delores Corry Rush became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Rush was initiated in 1995 at Delta Xi Omega Chapter . Soror Rush was a retired elementary school teacher that spanned over 25 years . She impacted the lives of hundreds of students and families . She served at Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church as a deaconess , church mother , Sunday School teacher , and Vacation Bible School teacher . She was a wife , mother , grandmother , sister , and friend .
