Cooke : Chapter Basileus
Harlem , NY – On February 12 , 2021 , former Tau Omega Basileus M . Ardena Cooke became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . An initiate of the Beta Alpha Chapter in April 1947 , Soror Cooke attended Howard University and Florida A & M University , where she received a bachelor ’ s degree in business administration and social science , respectively . In Tau Omega Chapter , Soror Cooke chaired several committees . She served as basileus of Tau Omega Chapter from 1966 – 1969 and created the Tau Omega Charitable Trust Fund . She was instrumental in establishing Omicron Theta , an undergraduate chapter on the campus of Marymount Manhattan College . She was a member of the international honorary members , awards , and international program committees and chairman of several regional and boule committees . She was also very involved in the Harlem community and was a member of the NAACP , Urban League , Doll League , Inc , and Friends of Aaron Davis Hall Guild .
Daniels : Principal / Golden Member / Life Member
St . Louis , MO – Soror Robbie Louis Davis-Daniels became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on January 26 , 2021 . She was initiated in 1954 in the Gamma Alpha Chapter at Philander Smith College and was a Pearl Soror with 67 years of uninterrupted service in the sorority . Soror Daniels was a teacher , coordinator , curriculum specialist , and elementary school principal in the St . Louis Public Schools for 45 years until her retirement . She was very active in the Gamma Omega Chapter for many years , working with the HBCU Walk-a-Thons that the chapter sponsored each year . She was named Outstanding Educator of the Year in SLPS in 1997 , received the Iota Phi Lambda " Apple for the Teacher " Award and the Phi Delta Kappa Eminent Educator Award . She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars and the NAACP .
Crews : Pearl Soror
Huntsville , AL – After 67 years of membership , Pearl Soror Martha Crews became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Crews was initiated in Zeta Delta Omega Chapter in Natchez , Miss ., in 1953 . Pearl Soror Crews later moved her membership to Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter in Huntsville , AL .
Daniels : HR Manager
Bowie , MD – Soror Shirley Daniels became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was initiated in the Omicron Chapter at the University of Cincinnati and was an active member of Psi Epsilon Omega in Prince George ' s County , Md . Soror Daniels was an avid traveler . She leaves to cherish her memory , family , devoted friends , and loving sorors .
Daffin : Retired Educator / Pearl Soror / Life Member
Mobile , AL – Soror Claudette Matthews Daffin became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 10 , 2021 . Soror Daffin was a member of Bethel AME Church , where she was a member of the trustee board , the Henrietta Cheatham Missionary Society , JTL Dandrige Board , a Sunday School teacher , and choir member . Soror Daffin was initiated into Beta Pi Chapter in 1956 . She later earned a master ' s degree from Pepperdine University . Soror Daffin was an elementary school principal in the Mobile County Public School System , a Retired Teachers Association , and Ladies of Leisure Club member . She was a decorator and enjoyed crafting and entertaining . In Delta Theta Omega Chapter , Mobile , Ala ., she served in several capacities . She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Gertrude Matthews ; husband , Joe Daffin Jr .; brothers Nathaniel Harris Jr . and Willie Harris Sr . She leaves to cherish her memories : sister Hazel Fournier , brothers John ( Katherine ) Matthews , and Clarence Matthews ; sister-in-law Carolyn Oliver and a host of family members and friends .
Darby : Retired Educator / Golden Soror
Baton Rouge , LA — Soror Mary Alice Gray Darby , MBA , JD ., CPA . became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on January 18 , 2021 . She was initiated in the Beta Psi Chapter in 1965 . She graduated from Southern University in accounting and was one of the first African Americans to become a certified public accountant in Louisiana . She earned a JD degree from Southern University Law Center , passing the Louisiana State bar exam , and a Master of Business Administration in Management . She served as director , Southern University School of accountancy . She served on the Greater Baton Rouge PanHellenic Council as first and second vice-president and treasurer . Soror Darby was a member of Gamma Eta Omega and Nu Gamma Omega chapters . During her 55-year tenure in the sorority , she served as financial secretary and tamiouchos and chaired international program initiatives and legal , budget and audit committees . She was also NGOEAC Foundation attorney and accountant . She is survived by daughters , Sorors Tillerie Darby and Geleste Darby , and four grandchildren .
