All monies spent were counted as a part of The Black Dollar 365 initiative . The deals offered were available for up to 24 hours for the participants to shop .
Epsilon Kappa Omega Holds Pink Reactivation Lounge
Milwaukee , WI – Members of Epsilon Kappa Omega celebrated Founders ' Day in their virtual Pink Lounge . This timely pivot was pandemic-proof and uniquely planned as a virtual reactivation gathering to reclaim pearls .

The evening featured nationally known comedian , Kelly Kellz , who put everyone at ease . Kellz is a teacher turned comedian , who in the midst of Greek comedy tours and a showcase on HBO ' s All Def Comedy , still keeps up with her students . The evening was planned by the membership , sisterly relations and social committees . Members invited inactive sorors in their neighborhood , at work , church , and within their family . Sorors were reactivated , celebrated , and welcomed home . The night yielded 17 reclaimed sorors with six after the event , for a total of 23 reactivations .

Mu Omega Omega in Local Spotlight
Aurora , CO – Several Mu Omega Omega sorors were in the local spotlight for their work in the community . Soror Leah Beavers was interviewed on Channel 7 ' s Mile High Living , coordinated by Soror Niambi Nichols , for her work with Larry H . Miller dealerships , who partnered with Denver 7 and the Salvation Army to help lessen the burden that this year ' s challenges brought to parents with school-aged children . Soror Beaver ’ s role as teacher at Strive Prep Rise School gives her first-hand knowledge on helping students focus on education so they can get the best out of their experience . Soror Lakia Thomas was interviewed by Channel 9 as a Jefferson County Public Health expert to discuss COVID-19 outbreaks at Child Care Centers and the biggest challenge - helping the children understand what is happening with the virus and maintaining their distance from one another .
Mu Eta Omega Coordinates Drive-Thru Pantry
Junction City , KS – Mu Eta Omega Chapter assisted the Geary County Food Pantry in providing food and nutritional information to over 6,000 citizens in Geary County . The community need became more overwhelming with school aged students attending classes remote and online . They were often missing their free and reduced breakfasts , lunches , and backpack meals . Family work schedules changed , and more people were home with less resources . Soror Margaret Kilpatrick , board president of the local pantry contacted USDA Farm to Family Program . The county received three truckloads of USDA boxes filled with fresh meats , fruits , vegetables , and dairy products . The sorority advertised in the local newspaper , on the radio , with local churches , on social media , in the school district , with neighbors and businesses etc . The Ministerial Alliance , Unified School District 475 , and United Way were asked to join in the drive-thru distribution efforts because of COVID-19 . Over the years , Mu Eta Omega Chapter has had the Geary County Food Pantry as an ongoing community project , providing nutritional recipes , facilitating building upkeep , distributing , and donating food . Soror Rina Neal serves as treasurer of the pantry board alongside Soror Kilpatrick .
Mu Omega Holds Virtual Mayoral Candidate ' s Forum
Kansas City , KS – Mu Omega Chapter and the Metropolitan Leadership Institution held a Mayoral Candidate ' s Forum prior to the August Primary . Five Candidates ran for this public office , but the incumbent was not present for the event . The Forum was held simultaneously through live-streaming on YouTube and in person . A total of 160 people were in combined attendance . The hosts provided contact tracing for all in-personnel as well , provided information in the Vaccination . All participants wore masks for safety purposes . A commentator with guest panelist asked questions of the candidates in the areas of Economic Development , Community Development , Housing , Vaccination education , and why they were the right person for the position . The questions were developed from the panelists prior to the event . Mu Omega also celebrated their 4 newly designated Pearls with two Drive-by ' s and a personal visit to a assisted

living facility . This event was a Sisterly Relations activity where our Pearls were showered with presents , congratulatory cards , and balloons from our membership . Our Pearls were thankful for the day ' s activities .
