Tomlinson : Retired Counselor / Silver Soror
Atlanta , GA – Silver Soror Rosa Jean Robinson Tomlinson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Tomlinson completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business at Clark College in 1961 . While at Clark College , she met the love of her life , Norris Leroy Tomlinson , Jr , and they married in 1961 . She obtained her Master of Education degree from Atlanta University and taught high school business courses in the Dekalb County School System . She retired from the school system as a counselor after serving for over three decades . She was a lifetime member of Antioch Baptist Church North in Atlanta . In addition , she lent her alto voice to multiple choirs and ensembles throughout her life . Soror Tomlinson was initiated in the Kappa Omega Chapter ( Atlanta ), where she served in various roles and fulfilled lifelong service to the community . Soror Tomlinson will be missed .
Vassar-Jackson : Golden Soror
Gaithersburg , MD – Soror Darrilyn Vassar-Jackson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on June 8 , 2021 . Soror Vassar-Jackson was initiated into the Gamma Theta Chapter in 1969 . She was a 1971 Hampton University undergraduate alumna and held a master ' s degree in social work from Rutgers University . As a long-time member of the Upper Montgomery County Xi Sigma Omega Chapter , Soror Darrilyn served on several committees and as the music committee chair . Soror Vassar-Jackson leaves to cherish her memory her husband Earl Jackson , her brother Bobby Vassar , Esq .; her daughters Soror MaKara Rumley Esq . ( Robert ), Saniel Underwood ( John ), Soror Sadhana Jackson ( Joseph Vivens ), her beloved grandchildren , grandnieces , nieces , nephews , cousins and a host of other relatives , dear friends , and sorors .
Viers : Retired Educator / Silver Star
East Moline , IL – Soror Frances M . Starkey Viers became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on March 31 , 2021 . She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and Master of Science from Western Illinois University . She was united in holy matrimony to Jesse Viers in 1966 . She taught at Grant and Hawthorne- Irving Elementary Schools in the Rock Island-Milan School District , retiring in 2000 after 29 years of service . She was a Christian member of Progressive Baptist Church , Davenport , IA . Soror Viers was initiated into Xi Eta Omega Chapter in 1989 , was a charter member of Quad Cities Chapter of The Links , Inc ., the Blackhawk Illinois Retired Teacher Association , and the Illinois Alpha Kappa Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority . She leaves to cherish her memory , her husband Jesse ; son , Devin ; granddaughters , Alexis Viers , Sandra Viers ; a brother , Frank Starkey , his wife , Gunilla ; nieces , nephews , and many devoted friends .

Wilmington , NC – Soror Tamika LaShan Walker-Samon became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was a member of Alpha Psi Omega Chapter . Soror Walker-Samon was initiated into Alpha Rho Chapter at North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro , NC , in 1997 . There , she received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting . She received her Master of Business Administration degree from Otterbein College . She worked in several positions , including financial analyst and client service manager . Soror Walker-Samon was employed by BP / Amoco , Tremco , and Covance Central Labs , a subsidiary of LabCorp . In addition , she was honored with the key to the city of Columbus , Ohio , for her outstanding service to the community . She is survived by her husband , Dr . Shelley A . Samon , and daughter Gabrielle Elizabeth Samon .
Wallace : Retired Administrator / Silver Soror / Life Member
Houston , TX – Soror Anita P . Wallace , Ed . D ., became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Wallace was initiated into Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter on October 28 , 1979 . She was a proud 41-year member and served on many committees , including chairman of the Debutante Ball , Walk-A-Thon , membership , and chapter retreat . In addition , she supported the Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston , Inc . Soror Wallace was an educator , mother , and friend . She was a counselor at Foster Elementary School , an assistant principal at Attucks Middle School , and an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix . In addition , she was a member of St . Angela Merici Catholic Church , serving as a eucharistic minister . Soror Wallace is survived by her husband , Carlton , and two daughters , Sorors Jonita Reynolds and Katrice Pearrie Lowe . She leaves to cherish her memory , four grandchildren , a host of sorority sisters , professional associates , and friends .
Warren : Educator / Golden Soror
Washington , DC – Xi Omega Golden Soror Frankye Dowe Warren became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Warren received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from West Virginia State College in 1949 . A professional teaching career began in 1951 at her alma mater Carver School in Salem , Virginia . After marrying John B . Warren , she relocated to Washington , DC , as an educator in the District of Columbia Public School System for over thirty years . Soror Warren was initiated in Beta Chi Omega in 1952 in Roanoke , Virginia . Upon relocating to DC , she became a member of the Xi Omega and became a golden soror , with 67 years of service to the sorority . Soror Warren is survived by her nieces Golden Soror Judith Dowe Roberts and Silver Soror Lenora Dowe Hale , and a host of other relatives and friends who cherish her memory .
