Washington : Claims Supervisor / Silver Soror / Life Member
Philadelphia , PA – Soror Erica Washington became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on March 7 , 2021 . She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Hampton Institute ( University ) and was initiated into Gamma Theta Chapter in 1977 . She became basileus and was honored as " Basileus of the Year ." Soror Washington began her career at Xerox Corporation and was employed at Prudential Insurance for many years , where she retired . She transferred her membership to Omega Omega Chapter and served on many committees : history and archives , bylaws , calendar girl , luncheon fashion show , connections , bridges , zodiac , Ivy Leaf ® reporter , Pan Hellenic Council , and was a supporter in various fundraisers . Soror Washington attended numerous Boules , NARCs , and NARs . Other organizational affiliation : National Association of University Women . She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church . She leaves to cherish her memory , beloved husband , David K . Washington , son , David Washington , daughter , Soror Katrina Bryant , grandson , Nathaniel Bryant , and a host of relatives , friends , and will be missed by sorors .
Wilder : Pharmaceutical Representative
Cincinnati , OH – Soror Tysha Southall Wilder became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on May 30 , 2021 . Soror Wilder was an active member of the sorority . She was initiated into the Sigma Omega Chapter in Cincinnati in May 1999 . She was also an active member of the Cincinnati Chapter of Links Incorporated . She attended Tennessee State University , where she earned a degree in political science . She received multiple awards for her stellar sales performance . Soror Wilder leaves to cherish her memory , her husband Robert Wilder Jr ., her daughter Karringtyn , her parents , Robert L . Southall Sr . and Sheila Nelson Southall , brother Robert L . Southall Jr ., and a host of loving family and friends .
Williams : Retired Educator / Silver Soror
Houston , TX – Silver Soror Louise Williams became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 14 , 2021 . Her 39 years of service in the sorority began in 1982 when she was initiated into Xi Alpha Omega Chapter . She graduated with a bachelor ' s degree from Prairie View A & M University , received a Master of Science degree from Texas Southern University , and a post-graduate degree from the University of St . Thomas . She retired from the Houston Independent School District , where she taught eighth-grade English . Soror Williams leaves to cherish her memories a host of family , friends , and sorors .
York : Educator / Retired Librarian / Diamond Soror
Pittsburgh , PA – Soror Margaret E . York , a faithful member of The Church of the Holy Cross , became an Ivy Beyond the Wall in Wilmington , DE , at 98 years old . She attended North Carolina Central University , earning a BA , BS , and an MS in Library Science . As a professional librarian , she was devoted to fostering the love of reading and research . She retired from the Pittsburgh School district as a librarian at Schenley Teacher Center . In retirement , she worked part-time at Allegheny Community College . Soror York moved to Wilmington , DE , and joined St . Barnabas ' Church , where her funeral was held in 2020 . A life member of the sorority , she was honored as a Diamond Member . Predeceased by her husband , P . I . York , she leaves two daughters , Soror Lydia York and Patrice Still ; two grandchildren , three great-grandchildren , family , friends , and sorors to cherish her memory .
Young : Educator / Silver Star
Quincy , FL – Soror Martha Young became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Young was initiated into Tau Theta Omega Chapter in 1993 and served for 27 years . She served the chapter in various positions , but her passion for feeding families epitomized her service to others . Soror Young received her bachelor ' s degree in elementary education from Alabama State University and a master ' s degree from Florida A & M University in education . She was a distinguished educator in Gadsden County Schools for more than 37 years . She impacted the lives of many students and was an advocate for education . She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years , Pugh Young . She is survived by her daughters Soror Phyllis Watson ( Michael ), Soror Pamela Barnes , Soror Paula Scott , and nephew , Donald Jackson . Her family , friends , co-workers , church members , and sorority sisters will cherish her memories .
