Mitchell : Charter Member / Educator / Golden Soror / Life Member
Warner Robins , GA – Soror Florence (" Flo ") Mitchell became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She completed her undergraduate studies at Bennett College in Greensboro , NC ., and continued her education at Boston University , where she earned her master ' s degree . Soror Mitchell was initiated into Gamma Pi Omega Chapter in 1970 and dedicated over 50 years of service . She helped charter Sigma Epsilon Omega Chapter and served as the chartering hodegos . In addition , she was an educator for over 40 years , where she taught at Robins Elementary School and as an active charter member of Christ United Methodist Church . She was also a member of the Fort Valley Chapter of The Links , Inc . and affiliated with numerous social , civic , and community organizations . Soror Florence leaves to cherish her memories ; Nephews , William Stallings and Anthony Ward ; Nieces , Lisa Ward , Vermeil Jenkins Leslie , Eva Ward Robinson , and a host of devoted relatives , sorors , and friends .
Newman : Speech Pathologist / Silver Star / Life Member
Charles Town , WV – Soror Linda Newman became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on May 18 , 2021 . Soror Newman was initiated into the Iota Tau Omega Chapter in May 1989 and joined Chi Theta Omega in 2003 . She was involved on many committees on the local and regional levels . Her accomplishments included Silver Star , Life Member , membership chairman , grammateus , antibasileus , basileus , and standards chair . She received her bachelor ' s degree at the University of Pittsburg and her master ' s degree in speech pathology at West Chester University . She had a passion for helping others and worked at Crestwood Middle School at her passing . She flourished working with students with challenging communication difficulties . She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church . Soror Newman is survived by her family , husband Allen , stepdaughter Aaliyah , grandson Isaiah and a host of friends .
Parham : Educator
Sacramento , CA – Soror Rosemary " Mikki " Parham became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was a graduate of CSU Los Angeles with a degree in journalism . She used her writing and editing strengths in various jobs with hospitals and nonprofits , including many years with UCLA and the California Department of Education , from which she retired . Soror Parham became a member of the Eta Gamma Omega Chapter in 2002 , working alongside her two daughters to be " of service to all mankind ." In addition , Soror Parham worshiped as a member of the Center of Praise Ministries , where she assisted with the youth , working with the Sunday School and with Girl Scout Troop 2381 , where all four of her granddaughters were active . She leaves behind the following family to celebrate her life : daughters Soror Monet Parham Lee , Soror LaKisha Parham Davis ; two sons-in-law ; and four granddaughters .
Partridge : Retired Educator / Pearl Soror / Life Member
Chattanooga , TN – Soror Ida Collier Partridge became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 1 , 2021 . She was initiated into Alpha Pi Chapter at Clark College . At Tennessee State University , she was the first to earn a master ' s degree in elementary guidance and counseling . She taught thirty-five years in the Chattanooga Public School System , teaching elementary and middle school curriculum . A world traveler , she helped design an award-winning international curriculum entitled " Careers Going Global ." This three-pronged curriculum , filmed in Hong Kong , introduced students to Americans living and working overseas . She held memberships in the National Education and Retired Teachers Associations and was a life-long member of The Church of Christ . She was an active life member for 74 years , serving as a graduate advisor , Fashionetta ® chairperson , basileus . She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving daughter , Soror Chrystal Partridge , sons Lamar , Joseph , Alvin , and Adrien , and an impressive legacy of sorors , including daughters-in-law , grandchildren , and nieces .
Partridge : Retired Educator
Chattanooga , TN – Soror Sylvia Ammons Partridge became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 6 , 2021 . She earned a bachelor ' s degree from Tennessee State University and a Master of Education degree from Trevecca Nazarene College . As an educator for 30 years , she impacted the lives of hundreds of children in Chattanooga . After retiring , she spent time traveling the United States . She was an avid baseball fan and visited all major league baseball parks east of the Mississippi River . The most memorable park was Fenway Park , home of the Boston Red Sox . She leaves behind her devoted husband Alvin Partridge and children Soror Tiffany Partridge , Alvin Partridge , and Lauren Partridge .
Pendergrass : Director of Information Technology / Community Servant
Kingstree , SC — Soror Hattie B . Pendergrass , initiated in the Lambda Theta Omega Chapter in 2005 , became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 28 , 2021 . She graduated from American InterContinental University and worked in the Williamsburg County School District as the director of information technology until her retirement in 2017 . Soror Pendergrass was a dedicated member of the Evening Star Chapter # 246 Order of the Eastern Star . She served as associate worthy matron and the chapter ' s current worthy matron until her death . She also served in many capacities at Mount Zion United Methodist Church . Soror Pendergrass was a member of the Lambda Theta Omega Chapter , where she served as chair of the technology committee , webmaster , financial secretary , treasurer , and vice president . Her proudest moment as a soror was when she pinned her daughters , Sorors Antonia Andrews , and Cicely Morris . A dedicated wife , mother , grandmother , friend , soror , and member of her church community .
