Johnson : Retired Educator / Former Basileus / Golden Soror / Life Member
Houston , TX – Golden Soror Estine Johnson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on February 20 , 2021 . Her 55 years of service began in 1966 when she was initiated into Phi Chapter at Wiley College in Marshall , TX , where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree . She started her career in education when she relocated to Kansas City . She relocated back to Houston , where she continued and retired as an educator after 39 years of service with the Houston Independent School District . Soror Johnson was chapter president during 1986-1987 and 1992-1993 and an active Xi Alpha Omega Chapter member . She demonstrated her leadership skills by taking on leadership roles in various community service organizations , her church , and her career . Soror Johnson leaves to cherish her memories , her husband Issac Johnson , her two children , Ronald Foster and Brandon Houston , Sr ., nine grandchildren , and a host of family , friends , and sorors .

Aiken , SC – Soror Rosalie N . Johnson became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She graduated in 1938 from Haines Normal Industrial Institute . She was a Benedict / Allen University graduate with a BS degree in elementary education and a minor in guidance . She obtained her master ' s degree from South Carolina State University in education / certified reading specialist . She received the Golden Apple Award for Teacher of the Year ; she was recognized for writing two grants : science , math , and reading program in collaboration with Benedict College for Friendship Baptist Church ; and the RIF reading program . She was a life member of the National Education Association , Links Inc . Aiken Chapter , and NAACP . Soror Johnson was initiated in 1964 in Zeta Xi Omega Chapter . She became a charter member in 1976 and a Golden Soror in 2015 with Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapter . She leaves to cherish her memories , two daughters Soror Margaret Johnson Sidney and Ms . Ethel Ford .
Joyner : Technology Specialist
Wilson , NC – Soror Tyrnesha Joyner of Gamma Beta Omega Chapter became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror " Shea " Joyner , as she was affectionately called , received her Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology from North Carolina A & T State University ; Associate of Science in Information Technology , Colorado Technical University ; Master of Science in Information Technology , Capella University ; and an MBA , Capella University . Collins Aerospace employed her for over 13 years as a technology specialist . Soror Joyner was initiated in 2004 into Gamma Beta Omega Chapter , where she served as hodegos , anti-tamiouchos , and on several committees . She was an active member of St . Jude Apostolic Holiness Church , serving in many capacities . She is survived by her parents , James Joyner , Jr . and Sharion Joyner ; brother , Derris Joyner ( Oniesha ); sister , Monecia Dublin ( Jamel ), and a host of other family and friends . She will be missed throughout Gamma Beta Omega Chapter and the Wilson County communities .
Kelly : Retired Educator / Diamond Soror / Life Member
Chattanooga , TN – Soror Doris Bruce Kelly became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 19 , 2021 . She was initiated into Alpha Psi Chapter at Tennessee State University 83 years ago , where she received her BS and MS degrees . She did post-graduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville , University of North Dakota , Middle Tennessee State University , and Northwestern University . A lifelong educator , she served in Chattanooga City Schools for many years before taking an assignment as Uniserve Representative for the Tennessee Education Association . She held life membership with the National Education Association and was a past president of the Chattanooga Education Association . She served on the board of directors of the Chattanooga Bicentennial Library . She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of East Eighth Street , where she served as vice-chairman of the trustees for many years . She leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving goddaughter , Soror Deborrah Bradley Carter , cousin and godson .
Lane : Retired Educator of Visually Impaired / Pearl Soror
Raleigh , NC – Soror Vivian Irene " Renee " Tate Lane became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on March 10 , 2021 . An advocate for education , she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Shaw University and a Master of Education degree from North Carolina Central University . For over 30 years , Soror Lane taught visually impaired primary grade students at the North Carolina Governor Morehead School . Soror Lane was a member of the Alpha Theta Omega Chapter and held many leadership positions , including basileus . She served as a dedicated member for over 70 years with a soft-spoken demeanor and was awarded the " Pearl " member status . She was active in the community and involved in numerous civic and social organizations . She was an avid golfer . She loved to travel and cherished memories of her tours of North , Central , and South America , Asia , and the Mediterranean . Soror Lane was loved by family , friends , and all who met her .
Lassiter : Former Basileus / Diamond Soror
Decatur , GA – Soror Dorothy Lassiter , 98 , became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on April 18 , 2021 . She was initiated into the Alpha Eta Chapter at Virginia Union University in Richmond , where she served as basileus . Soror Lassiter continued to serve for more than 75 years in the Zeta Nu Omega and Lambda Epsilon Omega Chapters attending regional conferences and national conventions . After graduating cum laude with a degree in sociology , Soror Lassiter continued her studies by obtaining a Master of Science in Library Services from Columbia University in New York . She became certified as a library media specialist , sharing her knowledge and history as a library director from New York to Georgia . Preceded in death by her college sweetheart of 61 years , Cleveland Frissell Lassiter , she leaves to cherish her memory , her sons , Mark Lassiter ( Linda ), Keith Lassiter , Brian Lassiter ( Patrice ), and a host of other family and friends .
