Foster : Retired Educator / Life Member
Rock Hill , SC – Soror Jestine Wright Foster became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She was born May 2 , 1933 , in Ridgeland , SC . She received her BS degree in elementary education from Morris College in Sumter , SC , and her master ' s degree from the University of South Carolina . She was an elementary school teacher in Rock Hill School District Three for 30 years . Soror Foster was an active member of New Mount Olivet AME Zion Church . She was a life member of the NAACP and the sorority Eta Alpha Omega Chapter . She supported the sorority ' s programs and activities . Soror Foster leaves to cherish her memories , her husband of 63 years , Samuel R . Foster , and two sons , Samuel R . Foster , II ( Chandra ) and Allyn Foster ( LaSalle ), grandchildren , great-grandchildren , a sister , other relatives , and friends .
French : Retired Social Worker / Diamond Soror
Norfolk , VA – Diamond Soror Jeanette May ( Foster ) French became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror French attended Talladega College in 1942 . Soror French was initiated into Chi Chapter on January 21 , 1944 . Soror French graduated from Talladega College with a BS in sociology . She attended the Atlanta University School of Social Work , and her career as a social worker flourished in Indiana and Michigan with the National Urban League . In 1954 she married Robert P . French , Jr ., of Pittsburgh and enjoyed 50 years of marriage before her husband ' s passing . She affiliated with Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter while in Pittsburgh . Soror French joined Second Calvary Baptist Church , serving cancer support , scholarship committees , and the drama ministry . She was recognized as a Diamond Soror to celebrate 75 years of service to the sorority in March 2019 . She leaves to cherish her memory , her daughter Soror Stacye French-Blue ( Michael ), four grandchildren , two great-granddaughters and numerous extended family members , sorority sisters , and friends .
Goldwaite : Business Administration / Education
Stone Mountain , GA – Soror Kim Goldwaite became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on Sunday , May 16 , 2021 . Soror Goldwaite was initiated in Tau Pi Omega Chapter , Stone Mountain-Lithonia , in 2015 . She received a bachelor ' s degree in business administration from Alabama A & M University and a Master of Education from Cambridge University . Soror Goldwaite was a dedicated member of Tau Pi Omega Chapter and served as membership cochairman until her death . She leaves to cherish her memory , a loving husband , Rod , one son , Roderick , and one daughter , her legacy , Soror Koe , as well as a host of beloved family members and special sorors .
Graham : Retired Principal / Silver Soror
Houston , TX – Soror Gwendolyn Graham became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . Soror Graham was an Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter member with more than 33 years of service . On May 31 , 1987 , she was initiated in Omicron Tau Omega Chapter . She later joined the Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter , where she was instrumental in coordinating fashions for The Ivy Educational and Charitable Foundation of Houston , Inc . Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show . She attended many South Central Regional Conferences , cluster retreats , and boules , including the centennial in Washington , DC , in 2008 . She was a passionate educator and former principal . She served with academic and educational endeavors within the sorority , including the higher education and High School Leadership Development committees at her alma mater , Jack Yates High School . She leaves to cherish her memory a son Eric , nieces Sorors Charlotte Gibson Carter , Quiana Smith , and sister-in-law Soror Mae Rose Smith .
Green : Poet / Charter Member
Aiken , SC – Soror Bernice Eldora Smalls Green became an Ivy Beyond the Wall . She attended South Carolina State College , where she received a BS in Home Economics and a master ' s degree in education . She served as District IV advisor for Aiken , Bamberg , and Barnwell Counties . She taught in SC public schools for 33 years . In 1979 , she was South Carolina ' s Home Economics Association and Family Circle Magazine Teacher of the Year . She was a poet and had a book of poetry published . Soror Green was initiated into Beta Sigma Chapter in 1941 at South Carolina State College . She was a member of Zeta Xi Omega Chapter in Augusta , GA , and a charter member of Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapter in Aiken , SC , in 1976 . She served as grammateus and historian . She leaves to cherish her memories , one daughter , Debra Louise Green : two brothers , Sammie Lee Smalls , Henry L . Smalls , and a host of relatives and friends .
Hervey : English Teacher / Federal Government
Houston , TX – Soror Olivia Hervey became an Ivy Beyond the Wall on March 27 , 2021 . She was initiated into Alpha Kappa Omega in Spring 2000 , where she served on the fine arts Committee , housing committee , and the AKA chorale . She began her formal education at Prairie View A & M University . She majored in business administration with a minor in English , graduating at the top of her class in 1960 . After graduating , Soror Hervey started her career teaching English at Lincoln High School , Dallas , Texas . Her federal government career began at the General Services Administration in Baltimore and later Washington , DC . She also worked at Patrick Air Force Base and the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office , advancing as an Assistant Director . Soror Hervey was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church . In addition , she served in several leadership positions within the Toastmasters Club .
