Delta Delta Omega Celebrates 75 Years of Community Service
East St . Louis , IL – Delta Delta Omega Chapter , celebrated its 75th anniversary with a virtual event , " A Diamond Celebration .... Delta Delta Omega Chapter Through the Years ." The virtual celebration was a visual journey highlighting Delta Delta Omega ' s history , intertwined with current events locally and nationally that have taken place over the past seven decades , with the chapter ' s historic journey since its chartering in 1946 . The event was free and live-streamed on the chapter ' s Facebook page . Delta Delta Omega Chapter ( DDO ) is one of five graduate chapters in the St . Louis area . There are also two undergraduate chapters in the region whose members attend Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and local universities and colleges within St . Louis . During its 75-year history , the chapter has supported East St . Louis , and surrounding communities with several initiatives focused on civil rights , education , health , financial literacy , and the Black family . " Delta Delta Omega ' s 75th Anniversary Celebration is a huge milestone for our members and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority ," said Amanda Brinson , 40th president of the Delta Delta Omega Chapter . Theta Rho Omega Hosts Virtual Public Relations Seminar
Markham , IL - Members of the Theta Rho Omega Chapter hosted a virtual seminar titled " Marketing 101 – “ Techniques to Market Your Chapter Events ." Participants were greeted by the chapter Basileus , Soror Carla L . Stewart . The guest speaker was Soror Felicia L . Miller , Central Region Representative , International Public Relations & Communications Committee , associate professor of marketing , and chair of the Marketing Department at Marquette University . The Public Relations seminar , led by Soror Julia Patterson , public relations chairman / Ivy Leaf ® reporter , was scheduled for Theta Rho Omega Chapter sorors with an invitation to other Central Region chapters . The seminar ' s goal was to provide information for chapters to enhance their social media efforts and increase the effectiveness of their outreach . Tau Gamma Omega Celebrates World Refugee Day
Oak Park , IL – Tau Gamma Omega Chapter hosted a donation drive for World Refugee Day with collaborated efforts from Target 3 : Building Your Economic Legacy and Target 5 : Global Impact . There were over 10,000 donated items from the Tau Gamma Omega members . The collected items ( children and adult masks , hand sanitizer , a variety of school supplies , and dictionaries ) were given Tau Gamma Omega Soror Lili Savage and to Mr . Joseph Schenk Mr . Joseph Schenk of Catholic Charities of Archdiocese of Chicago with donated items . of Catholic Charities of Archdiocese of Chicago . The organization was highly appreciative of the donated items for the Chicagoland refugees .
Kappa Tau Omega Celebrates 45 Years
Bloomington , IN – The sisters of Ivy , along with national and regional officers , chapter members across the state , and over 300 Bloomington residents , participated in Kappa Tau Omega Chapter ' s chartering ceremony affectionately referred to as the Jewel of Monroe County . The virtual 45th anniversary celebration featured special guest Soror Gisele ' M . Casanova , 28th Central Regional Director , who was instrumental in reactivating the chapter in 2013 . The theme , " The Heart of the Matter ," allowed sorors to celebrate our organization and the contributions of our chapter . The program included recognizing sorors who have impacted the chapter and the Bloomington community . We also recognized the 2021 Constance K . Holland Scholarship winner Ketura Lainy . The scholarship is named after Soror Constance Kinard Holland , who was monumental in chartering Kappa Tau Omega and serving internationally . A visionary leader , Soror Kinard conceived the idea for the Educational Advancement Foundation ( EAF ) in 1980 , served on the International Nominating Committee ( 1986-1988 ), and was elected Supreme Parliamentarian ( 1994-2000 ). For 45 years , the chapter continues to uphold the legacy of its charter members by implementing programs and initiatives that promote " Service to all Mankind ."
