Zeta Alpha Omega Hosts Stop Trafficking on Global Impact Day
Toledo , OH – Zeta Alpha Omega Chapter hosted a Human Trafficking Awareness virtual workshop for Global Impact Day . The state of Ohio is ranked fifth , and the city of Toledo is ranked eighteenth in the country for human trafficking . The speaker was Amy Legesse , coordinator of FOCUS on Runaways Project . Attendees were educated on the signs to watch for if they suspect females are being trafficked . Also , attendees were encouraged to donate essential household cleaning items and toiletries to The Cocoon - an agency and shelter for human trafficked survivors . The workshop was spearheaded by Target 5 : Global Impact Chairman Soror Alexii Collins , Program Chairman Soror Treva Jeffries and Basileus Soror Andrea Price .

Omicron Omega Hosts COVID-19 Vaccine Informational Forum
Birmingham , AL – Omicron Omega hosts the Covid-19 vaccine informational forum via Zoom featuring one of its members , Soror Adrienne Carter . Soror Carter is an internal medicine doctor who practices at the UAB Outpatient Clinic . She spoke about the statistics for Covid-19 and the available
Covid Vaccine Informational Forum participants are shown on the Zoom meeting . vaccines evolving at warp speed . She outlined what Covid-19 is , who is most vulnerable , what steps to take if you contract it , and how to prevent it . She also provided attendees with the pros and cons of the Pfizer , Moderna , and Johnson and Johnson vaccines . Nearly 100 participants had an opportunity to engage in the question-andanswer period at the forum ' s culmination . " Every adult needs a primary care physician who will break down the information related to Covid-19 , cardiovascular disease , and other health issues that disproportionately impact African American communities said , Soror Carter . The forum was a collaboration between the heart health and nutrition and wellness committee , under the direction of Basileus Leah J . H . Wiggins .
Upsilon Eta Omega Excels at Little Dresses Project
Birmingham , AL – Upsilon Eta Omega Chapter ' s Pillowcase Project Committee began 2020 with ambitious plans of excelling the 1,100 " little dresses " the chapter donated in 2019 under the Global Impact Target . Supporting our local and global communities became essential during the pandemic . Besides service , the sewing gatherings had become a time for sorors to fellowship and bond . Nonetheless , sorors forged ahead with renewed vigor and enthusiasm in a virtual capacity to continue to share ideas , safely connect , and sew . A challenge was issued to each chapter member to join in sewing shirts and dresses for the children of Haiti . Upsilon Eta Omega not only matched the previous year ' s total but " crushed " it by completing 1,275 dresses for little girls and 106 shirts for little boys to be donated by Soles4Souls for children in Haiti . Upsilon Eta Omega is humbled by the opportunity to uplift the children of Haiti and the joy each sewn item will deliver . Soror Wanda H . Jackson serves as the chairman of the pillowcase project committee , and Soror Manessa Wilson is basileus .
Delta Theta Omega Holds 113th Founders ' Day Celebration
Mobile , AL – Delta Theta Omega Chapter celebrated our 113th Founders ' Day in conjunction with Epsilon Upsilon , undergraduate chapter at the University of South Alabama , and Pi Rho , undergraduate chapter , at Spring Hill College . The program ' s theme was " Celebrating our Founders : Pretty , Poised , and Polished with Excellence ." Soror Chrishan Watson served as chairman of the event . The program ' s keynote speaker was Madam Supreme Basileus , Soror Glenda Glover . Greetings were given by South Eastern Regional Director Soror Mitzi Dease Paige ; Alabama State Senator ( District 33 ) Soror Vivian Figures ; undergraduate chapter presidents Soror Jourden Martin , Epsilon Upsilon ; Soror Deionte Rudolph , Pi Rho and vice president of Delta Tau Omega , Soror Donna Henderson . The virtual program included live speakers with a fusion of pre-recorded videos . The first video was of the Founders ' Day committee . The Essential Workers video gave a tribute to sorors who worked essential jobs during the pandemic . And a touching video was presented in memory of sorors who became Ivies Beyond the Wall . Chapter president , Soror Sheron Thames , introduced the Supreme Basileus and the recipients with chapter awards . The program ended with a video recording of the sorority hymn .

Alpha Alpha Zeta Omega Executes Programs During Pandemic
Southaven , MS – Alpha Alpha Zeta Omega Chapter Target 5 team took the lead by virtually organizing projects during the pandemic . The group began with The Pajama Pillowcase Project . The project allowed sorors and the community to work together to make dresses for young ladies in South Africa via Zoom . The next project was the highway clean-up . Sorors
