Epsilon Omega Omega Sponsors Women ' s Heart Health Matters

Macon , GA – A Coalition of Women ' s Organizations came together in Macon , Georgia , to sponsor a " Women ' s Heart Health Matters " Webinar to raise heart disease awareness in African American Women , empowering women with this knowledge and ultimately saving lives . The organizations consist of the local chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority , Inc . ® , Delta Sigma Theta Sorority , Inc ., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority , Inc ., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority , Inc ., The Links , Inc ., Jack , and Jill of America , Inc ., The Order of the Eastern Star , The Women ' s Missionary Society of the A . M . E . Church , and the American Heart Association . During heart health month , a proclamation was presented to the coalition by Macon / Bibb Mayor Lester Miller . Epsilon Omega Omega Basileus , Brenda Youmas , and Health and Wellness Co-Chairman , Cynthia Reese are representatives of the coalition . The webinar was via Zoom and Facebook with over 1,000 viewers . The featured speakers were Valerie Montgomery-Rice , president and dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine , Daniel Haithcock , an electrophysiologist with the Georgia Arrhythmia Consultants ; and Priscilla Pemu , professor and vice-chairman of Clinical Research at Morehouse School of Medicine . In addition , Soror Patricia Simmons gave a testimony of her heart attack . The presenters shared information regarding risk factors , symptoms , and prevention strategies . The coalition will remain together to sponsor a 2022 Heart Health Luncheon and future programs to empower the Macon / Bibb Community .
Rho Zeta Omega Awards Scholarships
Marietta , GA – The PEARL Foundation , Inc ., in collaboration with Rho Zeta Omega Chapter , awarded $ 32,500 in scholarships to 11 high school seniors from Cobb County at its 32nd Annual Scholarship Awards Program . The 11 scholarships include the Mae Carter Danzy HBCU Scholarship , awarded to a student attending an HBCU . Alpha Alpha Pi Omega Raises Funds for HBCUs

Snellville , GA – The Annual HBCU Virtual 5K RunWalk in Atlanta , sponsored by the HBCU Alumni Alliance , the 71-member Alpha Alpha Pi Omega Chapter , raised $ 5,627 to educate students at HBCUs around the country . Soror Kyshia L . Carey , the program committee chairman , led the fundraising effort to support Target 1 : HBCU for Life : A Call to Action and Target 2 : Women ' s Healthcare and Wellness . Our top 3 fundraisers were Soror Kimberly Tate , who raised $ 853.52 ; Soror Sarah Lewis , who raised $ 522.64 ; and Soror Kyshia Carey , who raised $ 515.78 . Soror Carey said ,
